2010-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Get Estimated 30 More Street Legal Horsepower

K&N air intake 57-2579 for the 2010-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500

2010-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 K&N air intake 57-2579 replaces factory components with a free-flowing roto-molded black HDPE intake tube coupled to a high-flow K&N air filter

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 moniker dates back to 1967 when the legendary Ford Pony Car received its first significant styling and mechanical changes. The Mustang Shelby GT 500 followed in the footsteps of the earlier 289 cubic-inch “HiPO” V8 powered and Shelby modified GT 350. Changes made to the first generation Mustang suspension and engine bay for the 1967 model year allowed Ford to stuff a 390 cu-in Ford big block FE motor under the hood. Not to be outdone, Carroll Shelby upped the ante by inserting a 428 cubic-inch police interceptor engine fueled by dual 4-barrel carbs into the new for ’67 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500. At the time the 390 V8 was the biggest engine available off the Ford production line, so the 428 powered GT 500 was truly a rare specimen.

2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500

Forty years after the original 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500, the FoMoCo revived the legendary Shelby GT 500 marque with a modern take on styling, handling, and performance

Forty years later Ford revived the legendary Shelby GT 500 marque with a modern take on styling, handling, and performance. Of course horsepower and engine displacement were higher than any other Mustang GT of the time. The 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 was powered by a supercharged 5.4L modular V8 mated to a 6-speed Tremec TR-6060 manual transmission. The 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustang was rated at 500 horsepower, and by 2014 when the GT 500 went back into hibernation power output was raised to an incredible 662 horsepower from a supercharged 5.8L V8.

K&N air intake 57-2579 under the hood of the 2010-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500

A combination of reduced restriction, straighter airflow, and an air filter heat shield add up to massive gains in street-legal horsepower for 2010-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 models

While the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 models are some of, if not the, most powerful factory production Mustangs ever, owners of these cars can easily bolt on more horsepower with a K&N intake system that is legal in all 50 states. The concept behind a K&N air intake system is simple. In the case of a 2010-2014 Mustang GT 500, K&N air intake 57-2579 replaces restrictive factory induction components with a free-flowing roto-molded black HDPE air intake tube coupled to a high-flow K&N air filter allowing the supercharged engine to breathe easier. A combination of reduced intake tract restriction, straighter airflow, and an application specific air filter heat shield add up to massive gains in street-legal horsepower and torque for 2010-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 models.

Dyno results of the K&N air intake 57-2579 for the 2010-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500

K&N 2010-2014 Shelby GT500 intake, number 57-2579, was installed on an stock 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 5.4L supercharged engine and dyno tested in-house by K&N filters

After establishing baseline power readings, the K&N 2010-2014 Shelby GT500 intake, number 57-2579, was installed on an otherwise stock 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 5.4L supercharged engine and dyno tested in-house by K&N filters. The results were an astounding estimated additional 30.49 street-legal horsepower and 30.95 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels of an already outrageous car. Similar, or perhaps better, results can be expected from 2013-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 models powered by the larger 5.8-liter V8. No additional modifications or tuning are required to experience an increase in power from K&N air intake 57-2579.

K&N backs its 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 air intake with a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. Significant testing goes into developing a K&N air intake system, so for those 2010-2014 Shelby GT500 owners looking to the step up to the next level of performance or just wow their friends, look no further than the K&N 57-2579 FIPK air intake system.

European VW Polo Typ 6R, & Related Audi, SEAT, SKODA Cars Improved with K&N 57S Intake

K&N 57S-9505 air intake system upgrades the VW Polo 6R

This K&N 57S air intake system upgrades the VW Polo 6R by replacing factory parts with a well-engineered molded air filter box and high-flow air filter from K&N filters

The Volkswagen Polo supermini has been produced by the German auto manufacturer Volkswagen since 1975. The VW Polo, currently in its fifth generation of production, is sold in Europe and other markets worldwide in hatchback, sedan, coupé and estate variants. Several other supermini cars produced by the Volkswagen group are based upon the same platform as the VW Polo, including the Audi A1, SEAT Ibiza, and SKODA Fabia, among others. More varied than the body style configurations of these models is the list of available engines. Engine displacement can range between 1.2-litres up to 1.6-litres, run on diesel fuel or petrol, and can be turbocharged or naturally aspirated.

K&N E-0655 air filter

The oiled cotton design of a K&N high-flow air filter used in the K&N VW Polo 6R intake flows more air than a paper air filter and the sturdy design allows it to be washed and reused

The Volkswagen Polo 6R has won several awards including World Car of the Year, Supermini of the Year, and Japan Import Car of the Year. Despite these many accolades the VW Polo, and the related Audi, SEAT, and SKODA models can be improved upon with the simple installation of a K&N® 57S performance air intake system. In many cases the factory air filter box is the greatest point of restriction in the factory air induction system. An engine needs to expend energy to overcome this restriction and K&N has done its homework when it comes to improving performance by reducing restriction as well as increasing airflow.

VW Polo Typ 6R, as well as related Audi, SEAT, & SKODA car owners can enhance the performance of their diesel, petrol, turbocharged, or naturally aspirated supermini by installing K&N performance air intake, number 57S-9505. This K&N 57S air intake system upgrades the VW Polo 6R by replacing the restrictive factory air box with a well-engineered and rotationally molded air filter box from K&N. This new air box is designed to house a large conical K&N high-flow air filter for superior airflow and superior performance.

The oiled cotton gauze design of a K&N high-flow air filter will flow more air than a comparable paper air filter because of cotton’s natural ability to breathe. When this layered cotton is pleated between coated wire mesh, and molded into durable urethane, it creates a washable & reusable air filter designed to outlast the car itself. K&N high-flow air filters and air intake systems are backed by a 10-year/million mile limited warranty (approximately 1.6 million kilometres). K&N air filters can be easily washed and reused with a K&N Recharger® air filter service kit.

K&N 57S air intake system, number 57S-9505, is designed as an easy upgrade for the following Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT, and SKODA models:

NASCAR Fill-in Driver Sergio Pena Scores 5th K&N Pro Series Win In Wild VIR Finish

Scott Heckert at the Virginia International Raceway Biscuitville 125

Scott Heckert broke his own track record in qualifying and led a majority of the Virginia International Raceway Biscuitville 125 before a broken rear end put him out of contention for the win

Going into Saturday night’s race, there was no doubt that defending NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race and pole winner Scott Heckert was the one to watch for the win. The HScott motorsports driver broke his own track record in qualifying and led a majority of the race. Unfortunately, a broken rear end on lap 47 resulted in Heckert finishing the race 15th. When asked about his unfortunate luck, Heckert said, “I was having so much fun battling with Austin [Hill] for the lead. My team gave me the car to win and we just had bad luck. We are going into Richmond with a positive attitude and looking to make up points in the championship run.”

On the second Green-White-Checkered finish attempt of the Biscuitville 125 at VIR, leader Austin Hill spun in turn one resulting in NASCAR Next driver Dalton Sargeant taking the lead

With Scott Heckert out of contention, many other eager drivers hoped to take their shot at ending up in Victory Lane. In the last five laps there were between 3 and 4 lead changes on the tricky 2.5 mile road course. On the second Green-White-Checkered finish attempt, leader Austin Hill spun in turn one resulting in NASCAR Next driver Dalton Sargeant taking the lead. Sergio Pena started fifth on the final restart and was sitting in third after Sargeant took the lead. On turn 7 of the final lap Dalton Sargeant went spinning, leaving Pena and Kaz Grala to battle it out for the checkered flag. Coming down the front shoot to the start finish line, Pena and Grala made contact. Pena took the lead and the Biscuitville 125 win in his number 42 Special Smiles Pediatric Dentistry Toyota.

Sergio Pena, a 22-year old Virginia Native, was a fill-in driver for primary Rev Racing driver Jay Beasley while he is out for medical reasons. “This win is for Jay Beasley, he deserves to be in this car. In the end I can’t thank Rev Racing and the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program enough. They could have chosen a lot of people but they chose me and I am glad we ended up in Victory Lane,” said Pena during a victory lane interview. Pena is hoping this win opens opportunities for him to get back into the sport allowing him to continue climbing the ranks.

Kaz Grala took home the runner up position in his number 3 Kiklos Toyota Camry followed by Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender David Garbo Jr. This was Garbo’s first podium finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Fellow rookie of the year contender and Rev Racing driver Collin Cabre brought home the fourth position while Jj Haley, after leading for six laps, rounded out the top five.

William Byron still leads the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship points chase over Scott Heckert by 12 points going into the UNOH 100 at Richmond International Raceway. Austin Hill, who sits in third place, has further narrowed the gap between him and Scott Heckert. The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will return to the track for the UNOH 100 at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday, September 10, 2015.

2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Power Boost from K&N Intake & Charge Pipe

K&N Air Intake 63-1570 for the 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The K&N 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel performance air intake and intercooler pipe work together to create remarkable gains in horsepower and torque

The fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, referred to as the WK2 in some circles, can be equipped with an optional 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoDiesel V6. The common rail diesel (CRD) V6 engine is produced by VM Motori Cento in Ferrara, Italy and produces horsepower and torque numbers that rival the optional 5.7-liter V8 engine equipped WK2 Grand Cherokee models. Where the diesel Grand Cherokee outshines its V8 powered brethren is in miles per gallon and increased fuel range.

Fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee

The fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, referred to as the WK2 in some circles, can be equipped with an optional 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoDiesel V6

Owners of 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee models looking to further increase the performance of their turbocharged EcoDiesel have a bolt-on performance option from the leader in air filter technology, K&N. diesel performance air intake systems, like number 63-1570 from K&N filters, are designed to safely and reliably increase horsepower and torque by reducing restriction and turbulence in the air intake tract. This improvement in performance is accomplished by replacing restrictive factory components with all new parts from K&N that are designed to increase power.

K&N Air Intake 63-1570 for the 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

For increased diesel performance K&N replaces factory 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee parts with a new roto-molded HDPE air intake tube and mandrel-bent aluminum intercooler pipe

A K&N air intake system begins with a world famous washable and reusable high-flow K&N air filter. K&N air filter number RC-2960, is built with an oiled cotton gauze filtration technology pleated between two layers of wire screen mesh. Because cotton naturally breathes easier than typical paper disposable air filters, a K&N air filter will allow for increased airflow with the benefit of being reusable. From there K&N replaces the dryer-hose like factory air intake tube of the 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel with a new roto-molded HDPE air intake tube to smooth and straighten airflow. The open element K&N air filter is protected by an application specific air filter heat shield which deflects engine heat and seals against the bottom side of the hood.

The 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee diesel air filter is protected by an application specific air filter heat shield which deflects engine heat and seals against the bottom side of the hood

An additional performance component of the K&N Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel air intake system is the new K&N intercooler pipe made from mandrel-bent aluminum and powder coated for durability. The K&N intercooler pipe included with K&N diesel intake 63-1570 replaces the factory pipe and intercooler muffler chamber. The K&N Grand Cherokee intercooler pipe helps to further reduce air intake tract restriction while also giving the 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L EcoDiesel engine a more aggressive sound. The K&N Grand Cherokee diesel performance air intake system, and Grand Cherokee diesel intercooler pipe work together to create some pretty remarkable gains in horsepower and torque.

When dyno tested in-house by K&N filters on an otherwise stock 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L turbo diesel, K&N air intake 63-1570 was shown to provide an estimated increase of 12.67 additional horsepower at a usable 2,900 RPM. More impressive yet is the estimated increase of 30.94 lb-ft of torque which peaked at a low 2,600 RPM. K&N diesel air intake system 63-1570 exhibited gains in power across the RPM band which directly translated to measurable increases at the rear wheels. This diesel air intake system will do more than just provide more power. It will also improve drivability by reducing restriction; allowing the turbocharger and engine to work more efficiently.

When dyno tested in-house by K&N filters on an otherwise stock 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L turbo diesel, K&N air intake 63-1570 was shown to provide more horsepower and torque

The K&N diesel performance air intake system for 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Eco Diesel 3.0L V-6 turbo diesel models is backed by a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. This diesel air intake system is designed to provide increased performance, reusability, and long air filter service intervals without any need for modifications or voiding the factory warranty of the following Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 models:

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L V6 Diesel
