K&N Air Intake under the hood of Jeep Patriot, Compass and Dodge Caliber
The 2011 to 2013 Jeep Patriot, Compass and the 2011 to 2016 Dodge Caliber come with two 4-cyliner engine choices, a 2.0 liter or a 2.4 liter. Even though all three vehicles may look different on the outside, when it comes to the power plant under the hood, they all have the same setup. The benefit here is this gives owners of these vehicles the same options when it comes to performance modifications.
K&N Air Intake System for Jeep Patriot, Compass and Dodge Caliber
K&N offers the 63-1567 air intake system for all three vehicles and this air intake fits both 4-cyliner engine options. The 63-1567 comes with all the necessary components needed to make this an easy to install air intake system. This air intake can be installed in less than 90 minutes using the tools that are listed on the installation instructions. Bolting on this intake is an easy way to add an estimated 6.3 horsepower at 4397 rpm and 5.2 feet pounds of torque at 3463 rpm.
The 63-1567 air intake system includes a high density polyethylene air intake tube that is designed specific to the Patriot, Compass and Caliber's engine bay setup. The molded air intake tube was designed with a threaded NPT fitting to reattach the crank case vent hose and a spot for the air intake temperature sensor. Also included is a heat shield and heat shield lid. The heat shield is designed to help keep the cool outside air blocked from the engine compartment's hot air. In addition, the heat shield has an air inlet area for the stock air inlet tube. The heat shield lid acts as a dual purpose component, first by acting as the elctronic control unit (ECU) mount and second by blocking more of that hot under hood air.

The 63-1567 utilizes K&N's RU-4990 performance air filter. This air filter is an oversized cone filter that is designed to help increase air flow and performance, while still providing the filtration efficiency needed to protect these engines. This filter can last up to 100,000 miles before it needs to be cleaned depending on driving conditions. When the time comes to clean the air filter, K&N offers a Air Filter Sevicing Kits. If you drive in dusty conditions, K&N also offers a range of air filter wraps in red, black, blue and yellow.
Once installed, the 63-1567 air intake system will be the last intake and air filter you will ever need since this air intake is covered by K&N's famous Million Mile Limited Warranty.
K&N Air Filter for Mercedes Benz CLA220, A220, A200, A180, B220, B200 and B180
Stuttgart-based Mercedes-Benz has the world's longest diesel history, which shouldn't come as a surprise, being that they're the same folks who also have the longest car tradition. It was in 1936 when MB first introduced the 260D, a car way ahead of the curve, delivering spirited performance and better mpg's from diesel, a fuel that had never before powered a car. Next came the first turbo diesel in 1977, followed by the common rail direct injection in 1997 and, as is their nature, Mercedes continues to reinvent the alternative fuel that offers higher torque and efficiency with up to 30% lower greenhouse-gas emissions than gasoline

The newest evolution of the diesel tradition, the BlueTEC models offered today are simply the world's most advanced diesels available, offering ultra-low emissions, high fuel economy and responsive performance. BlueTEC denotes engines equipped with advanced NOx reducing technology which includes a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system. In Europe, where roughly half of new vehicles sell with diesel engines, Mercedes offers several of the fuel sippers, including the 2.1 and 1.8-liter engines listed in the models below. The turbocharged 2.1-liter inline-four diesel makes 190 horsepower and 1.8-liter variant measures up with about 136 horsepower. Both engines produce impressive response around town; they're unruffled on the highway, and boast mileage figures up into the hybrid range. The good news is the demand for these extremely frugal, yet powerful diesel engines has spread to the U.S., where the 2.1-liter engine is now available in the 2013 GLK-Class.
The new Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, as well as the A and B-Class are all built on the same compact car platform and their diesel engines have inspired drivers in the U.K. and throughout Europe for the past couple of years. And now both diesel engine options can instantly, and effortlessly, improve overall performance with a K&N 33-2996 reusable air filter upgrade.
K&N's performance air filter can increase both horsepower and torque, while at the same time providing exceptional engine protection. Plus it's designed to simply fit into the existing factory air box, just like a disposable paper filter.

The K&N 33-2996 reusable air filter will be the last air filter you'll ever need to purchase for your Mercedes-Benz - K&N maintains that pledge with their celebrated Million Mile Limited Warranty.

One of the key reasons why people choose Mazda is because of their road civility. They offer first-rate highway acceleration and they hold the corners well and with very little sway. The ride is tranquil and transmits confidence over any road condition. Beginning in 2011 they added yet another good motive to buy Mazda - SkyActiv.
K&N Replacement Air Filter Front for Mazda3 and Mazda5
Currently, 95% of the world uses gasoline or diesel combustion engines, and by 2020, 90% still will. This is why Mazda developed SkyActiv, a series of technologies designed to increase both fuel efficiency, and engine output. The SkyActiv-G 2.0 engine was first available in North America on the 2012 Mazda3, and it hit the market internationally a year before in both the Mazda3 and Mazda5 models. The engine is an engineering marvel that produces more low/mid-range torque and fewer emissions while consuming less fuel.
The revolutionary new engine then required the ultimate transmission to get that precious energy to the wheels. Mazda studied every modern transmission made and employed the best features of each to come up with the SkyActiv -Drive six-speed automatic transmission. It shifts smoothly for steady acceleration and quickly for the connected feel of a manual transmission but with far greater efficiency.

Michael Self wins third NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race in a row at Lebanon I-44 Speedway
Michael Self won his third NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race in a row, but it didn't come without controversy.
Self made a pass for the lead, going three-wide with Cameron Hayley and Greg Pursley, with two laps to go at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri. Hayley and Pursley were forced up the race track and spun out. The crash set up a green-white-checkered flag finish and knocked Hayley and Pursley, who combined to lead 147 laps of the Toyota/G-Oil 150, out of contention.

Self pulled away from Daryl Hall and Dylan Lupton to win the race. Hayley wound up in seventh place. Pursley crossed the finish line in ninth place.
"It's tight. It's short-track racing. You get into each other, you beat and bang," Self said. "I got taken out there with about 25 to go and we had to overcome it. It's how short track racing goes."
Self's three-race winning streak is the first since Pursley won three races in a row in 2011. Self has won races at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota, a road course, Iowa Speedway and Lebanon I-44 Speedway, a 3/8-mile short track.
"Three in a row, can't complain with that," Self said. "Road course, speedway and a short track, it's pretty unbelievable for us. First time out here to I-44 Speedway, and it couldn't have been a more eventful one, I don't think."
It was the sixth victory in the past 15 races for Self. The race was second in three days for the K&N Pro Series West drivers and teams. Self became the first driver since Harry Jefferson to win West Series races on the same weekend since 1979.

Hayley won the pole and led the first lap of the race. Pursley, who started on the front row with Hayley, took over the lead on lap 2 and held it for 14 laps. Hayley and Pursley swapped the lead six times before the three-wide pass by Self on lap 147.
Self won the race after a restart on lap 151 staying out front for the entire green-white-checkered flag finish.
"When you're doing a restart with five to go, you go for it, you give everything you can and you take every single inch," Self said. "Any guy out there is going to do the same thing. Anyone who's going to be in a position to get taken out is going to be mad and anyone who's going to be in the winning position is going to be happy."
Harr, who competed and finished 24th in the NASCAR Nationwide race at Iowa Speedway earlier in the day, finished in the top five for the second time in five K&N Pro Series West Series races this season.
"I'll take it. After 10 years, I'll take a second place," Harr said. "My dad Carl has been a big part of my life and my racing. Just to get on the podium in the West Series is so cool. He's going to enjoy this night as much as I am for sure."
Lupton, a rookie, posted his second top-five finish of the season.
"It was a great night," Lupton said. "The car was set up absolutely perfect. I just blew it on restarts all night long. Inside or outside, it did not matter. I could not get going. A third-place finish tonight is not something to hang our heads down on. We've been working really hard, so I'm excited to come out of here with a solid top-five finish."
Self took over the lead in the K&N Pro Series West standings. He has a one-point advantage over Derek Thorn, who was fourth at Lebanon.
Hayley dropped into third place in the K&N Pro Series West standings, eight points behind Self. Pursley is in fourth place in the K&N Pro Series West standings, nine points out of first.
The next race in the K&N Pro Series West is the Carneros 200 at Sonoma Raceway in California on June 22.

NASCAR K&N Pro Series race at Iowa Speedway puts Michael Self in victory lane
In seven NASCAR K&N Pro Series races at Iowa Speedway, no driver from the West Series has won. Until now.
Apparently the eighth time was the charm as Michael Self won the Casey's General Store 150 and became the first driver from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West to win outright at Iowa Speedway. The race pits the drivers and teams from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and East. An East Series driver won the previous seven races.
Michael Self takes the checkered flag at NASCAR K&N Pro Series race at Iowa Speedway
Self was the highest finishing driver from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in the race at Iowa Speedway in November. He was ninth overall, but credited with a victory as the highest finishing driver from the West Series.
This time there was no qualification for the victory. Self led a race-high 83 laps in a race that went 159 laps because of cautions and crashes.
He took the lead from Brett Moffitt on lap 87 and held it for the final 73 laps of the race.
"To come to Iowa Speedway and perform like this in front of these fans, the West win for us last year was big," said Self, a 22-year-old from Park City, Utah. "To win overall, I couldn't believe it. I haven't been this excited over a win, a big night for us."
Anderson Bowen, a 15-year-old rookie making his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series start, won the pole. He led the first nine laps of the race before falling back and finishing in 14th place.
Another rookie, Cole Custer, took the lead from Bowen on lap 10 and was out front for 18 laps.
The serious contenders worked their way to the front with Moffitt taking the lead on lap 29. He was the leader for 59 laps before giving way to Self.
Michael Self celebrates victory of NASCAR K&N Pro Series race Casey's General Stores 150
Moffitt and Self swapped time leading the race until lap 87 when Self took the lead for good.
Self won his second NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race in a row and has won five times in the past 14 races.
"It was such a good car," Self said. "And such a big thanks to (crew chief) Steve Portenga and the Golden Gate Racing team for putting that car together."
Dylan Kwasniewski finished second and was the highest finishing driver from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He was credited with a victory and won his second race of the season. He was the winner in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season opener at Bristol Motor Speedway.
"We just rallied back," Kwasniewski said. "We were trying hard to beat Michael out there, but he was really good. ... It was fun running with Brett. It was a great race."
Moffitt crossed the finish line in third place, his fourth top-five finish in six NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races.
"I should feel really good about it, but we really start needing to get wins here," said Moffitt. "It's just really frustrating when we had a decent race car here the first half. We just got really tight and didn't adjust enough. We need to get on our game there."
Moffitt leads the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings by five points over Kwasniewski despite not having a win in the series yet.
Self was six points behind Derek Thorn for the lead in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West standings after the Iowa Speedway race. Thorn took a big hit in the standings with an 18th place finish. But he was the fifth-place finisher among NASCAR K&N Pro Series West drivers.
The next NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race is the Toyota/G-Oil 150 at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on June 9.
The next NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race is at Langley Speedway on June 22.
