Owners of 2015 Ram 1500 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel V6 models looking for a quick and easy boost in diesel performance have a bolt-on performance intake option from K&N

The 2015 Ram Trucks brand Ram 1500 can be equipped with an optional 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel V6 marketed as the EcoDiesel by Chrysler in North America. The common rail diesel (CRD) V6 engine is produced by VM Motori Cento in Ferrara, Italy and produces horsepower and torque numbers that rival the optional 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine equipped Ram 1500 models. Where the 3.0L L630 DOHC turbo diesel powered 2015 Ram 1500 outshines its V8 powered brethren is in miles per gallon and increased fuel range.

The 2015 Ram Trucks brand Ram 1500 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel V6 rivals the optional 5.7-liter HEMI V8; but outshines the HEMI with increased miles per gallon & fuel range

Owners of 2015 Ram 1500 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel V6 models looking for a quick and easy boost in diesel performance have a bolt-on performance option from the leader in air filter technology, K&N. Diesel air intake systems from K&N Filters are designed to safely and reliably increase horsepower and torque by reducing restriction and turbulence in the air intake tract. This improvement in performance is accomplished by replacing restrictive factory components with all new parts from K&N that are designed to increase power.

2015 Ram 1500 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel V6 K&N air intake system

The 2015 Ram 1500 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel V6 K&N air intake system begins with a world famous washable and reusable high-flow K&N extreme duty air filter, number RF-1042XD

A K&N air intake system begins with a world famous washable and reusable high-flow K&N air filter. K&N air filter RF-1042XD, included with the K&N 2015 Ram 1500 diesel air intake system, is built with a special tight-weave extreme duty (XD) oiled cotton gauze media pleated between two layers of coated wire screen mesh. Because cotton naturally breathes easier than typical paper disposable air filters, a K&N air filter will allow for increased airflow with the benefit of being reusable. However, the tight weave cotton used in K&N XD air filters adds the extra filtration efficiency and engine protection needed for turbo diesel engines.

2015 Ram 1500 3.0L diesel, K&N air intake dyno chart

When dyno tested on a 2015 Ram 1500 3.0L diesel, K&N air intake 63-1571 was shown to provide an estimated increase of 11.22 additional horsepower and 15.34 lb-ft of torque

While a K&N air filter can increase airflow it’s the combination of additional components found in the K&N 2015 Ram 1500 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel air intake system that adds up to a guaranteed increase in horsepower. In addition to the washable & reusable K&N air filter, the K&N 2015 Ram 1500 diesel air intake system uses a performance designed molded HDPE air intake tube, application specific air filter heat shield, all necessary installation hardware, and easy to follow installation instructions. Just a few common hand tools are required, with a t25 torx bit being the least common.

When installed and dyno tested on a 2015 Ram 1500 3.0L diesel using the in-house K&N filters dynamometer, K&N air intake 63-1571 was shown to provide an estimated increase of 11.22 additional horsepower at a usable 3,300 RPM. Equally impressive is the estimated increase of 15.34 lb-ft of torque which also peaked at 3,300 RPM. K&N diesel air intake system 63-1571 exhibited gains in power across the RPM band which directly translated to measurable increases at the rear wheels. This diesel air intake system will do more than just provide more power. It will also improve drivability by reducing restriction; allowing the turbocharger and engine to work more efficiently.

The K&N diesel performance air intake system for 2015 Ram 1500 3.0-liter L630 DOHC turbocharged diesel pickups is backed by a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. This diesel air intake system is designed to provide increased performance, reusability, and long air filter service intervals without any need for additional modifications or impact on the factory warranty of the following Ram Trucks brand Ram 1500 pickups:

2014-2015 Toyota Tundra 4.6L & 5.7L V8 Trucks Get 50-State Legal K&N Intake Option

2014-2015 Toyota Tundra V8 performance upgrade

K&N has stepped in to offer a street legal bolt on performance upgrade that can be installed in less than 90 minutes and with basic hand tools on 2014-2015 Toyota Tundra V8 trucks

2014-2015 Toyota Tundra 4.6L or 5.7L V8 Street legal performance air intake system

K&N engineers retained the 2014-2015 Toyota Tundra 4.6L or 5.7L V8 stock air filter box allowing K&N intake 57-9036 to earn an exemption order from the California Air Resources Board

Toyota took on the first gen Tundra's critics by introducing a larger second generation Toyota Tundra for the 2007 model year. The second generation effectively squashed complaints about the Tundra being small, but the second blow came from Toyota with the introduction of an all-new 5.7L 3UR-FE V8 engine. The dual VVT-i 5.7L V8 engine was rated at a whopping 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. In 2010 Toyota replaced the 4.7L I-Force V8, first introduced in the 2000 Toyota Tundra, with a 4.6L 1UR-FE V8 engine originally used in Lexus models in the Middle East. This new smaller engine belongs to the same engine family as the Tundra's 5.7L engine. It shares the 5.7L engine's 94 mm bore, but with a shorter stroke.

The 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque offered by the second generation Toyota Tundra's 5.7L 3UR-FE V8 is probably more than enough power for most situations. However, there are times such as towing, hauling a fully loaded bed, or even off-roading where a boost in horsepower can come in handy. For 2014-2015 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 owners in need of more power, or 2014-2015 4.6L V8 owners looking to close the power gap, K&N has stepped in to offer a bolt on performance upgrade that can be installed in less than 90 minutes and with basic hand tools for both V8 engines.

2015 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 K&N intake dyno

When tested on K&N's dyno, this air intake produced an estimated additional 5.8 horsepower and 5.73 pound-feet of torque over the stock system of an otherwise stock 2015 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8

The K&N 57-9036 performance air intake system is a little different from the average K&N cold air intake system. K&N engineers chose to retain the use of the 2014-2015 Toyota Tundra 4.6L or 5.7L V8 stock air filter box when designing this K&N performance air intake system. Retaining the use of the stock air box allowed K&N engineers to increase performance while leaving all the stock emissions control equipment in place. This allowed K&N air intake 57-9036 to earn an exemption order (EO) from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for the 2014-2015 Toyota Tundra models listed below.

Despite appearances, the K&N 50-state street legal air intake system for 2014-2015 Toyota Tundra 4.6L or 5.7L V8 pickups is precision-engineered to provide a guaranteed increase in horsepower, better acceleration, and improved engine sound. When tested on K&N's in-house dyno, this air intake produced an estimated additional 5.8 horsepower at 5,508 rpm and 5.73 pound-feet of torque at 3,796 rpm over the stock system of an otherwise stock 2015 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8. Similar results can be expected when this street legal air intake is installed on 2014-2015 models with a 4.6L V8 engine.

Street legal performance air intake 57-9036 is designed to fit and function properly on the 2014-2015 Toyota Tundra models listed below:

2015 TOYOTA TUNDRA 5.7L V8 F/I - All CARB EO Number: D-269-52
2015 TOYOTA TUNDRA 4.6L V8 F/I - All CARB EO Number: D-269-52

2015 Ford F150 5.0-liter V8 Pickup Truck 50 State Street Legal K&N FIPK Air Intake

K&N 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L street legal air intake system

The K&N 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L FIPK performance air intake system reduces restriction and increases airflow for a 50-state street legal performance upgrade

For over 30 years the Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States. For 2015 the Ford F-150 was completely redesigned and is currently one of the hottest selling vehicles on the market. The beauty of the 2015 Ford F-150 is its all-aluminum body panels, as well as a new frame made of 77% high-strength steel. The aluminum and high-strength steel have helped the 2015 F-150 shed up to 750 lbs. Less weight means higher payload and towing capacities, more miles per gallon, and a better power to weight ratio.

The 2015 Ford F-150 will benefit from more street legal power from K&N air intake system

The 2015 Ford F-150 has shed up to 750 lbs. and less weight combined with more power from a street legal K&N air intake system will increase the rate of acceleration

Performance minded drivers know that less weight and more power combine to increase the rate of acceleration. K&N can help the lighter 2015 Ford F-150 with a 5.0L V8 engine with a 50-state street legal boost in horsepower and torque for improved towing performance and better acceleration. K&N got to work developing an air intake system for the 2015 Ford F150 5.0L V8 and obtaining an Exemption Order (EO) from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) making this intake available for sale and use in California as well as other states with similar emissions standards.

An air intake system, like one from K&N, is designed to increase power by significantly reducing air intake tract restriction and increasing the amount of air available to the engine. K&N does this by replacing the 2015 Ford F150 5.0L V8 engine’s stock air filter box with an open oversized K&N high-flow air filter, and eliminating the accordion flex hose stock air intake system with a smooth walled and molded K&N air intake tube. Reducing the amount of power wasted on drawing air into the engine can translate into more power where it counts; at the wheels.

A molded HDPE K&N air intake tube improves power and maintains a factory-like appearance of 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L models while also being street legal in all 50 states

First, K&N established baseline horsepower numbers on a 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L before installing a K&N air intake, and then repeated the test after installing a K&N air intake. When installed on an otherwise stock 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L, K&N 50 state street legal air intake 57-2591 produced an estimated gain of 12.74 horsepower at 4,555 RPM. Improvements in torque were also seen with the max estimated torque gain of 9.92 lb-ft occurring at a lower 3,730 RPM. K&N is so confident in its cold air intake systems that it offers a K&N air intake Horsepower Guarantee.

2015 Ford F150 5.0L street legal K&N air intake dyno

Improvements in power from installing street legal K&N air intake 57-2591 on a 2015 Ford F150 5.0L will be immediately felt along with the improved engine sound

In addition to a guaranteed increase in horsepower, K&N backs its air filters and air intake systems with a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. K&N is confident in its products because each design undergoes rigorous testing in laboratory and real world situations. Also, K&N will warrant that using its products will not result in a vehicle warranty denial. If ever a vehicle warranty department tries to deny the vehicle warranty, or blame the presence of a K&N product, please feel free to contact K&N customer service at 1-800-858-3333 and K&N will work to resolve the issue.

The K&N street legal performance air intake system for 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L V8 models includes a world famous K&N washable and reusable high-flow air filter RC-5173. The 2015 Ford F150 K&N intake air filter is designed to provide a large surface area that can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. When it does come time to clean a K&N air filter, a readily available K&N Recharger air filter service kit will restore the filter to like-new performance. A washable and reusable air filter saves money and the long cleaning intervals can save time on maintenance.

K&N air intake system 57-2591 is engineered to provide a guaranteed increase in street legal horsepower and torque for the following Ford F150 models:

'Living The Dream' Video With Bradley Morris Launches January 4th, 2016 on YouTube

Bradley Morris is Living The Dream

A K&N YouTube video entitled “Living The Dream” featuring K&N LOORRS Pro4 Driver Bradley Morris will launch January 4th, 2016 at 9 am EST

Some would argue that racers are born, not made. In the early days of motorsports there were exceptional drivers, or riders, who seemed to naturally excel at going fast without any real training. These days there are schools and training camps aimed at creating racers; often from a very young age. While this could be considered making racers, it still takes a natural talent, and sometimes a lack of fear, that can’t be taught in order to really shine. Such is the case with K&N air filters sponsored racer Bradley Morris.

Bradley Morris is Living The Dream

The K&N YouTube video entitled “Living The Dream” with Bradley Morris will also be hosted on the K&N website at knfilters.com/dream

Bradley Morris began his racing career in 2008, at the age of 10, behind the wheel of a Trophy Kart. Not sure that racing would take hold, Bradley’s dad wisely bought him a used trophy kart. In his very first race Bradley finished 2nd, which is generally unheard of for a first timer and this initial result wasn’t an anomaly. Bradley’s passion for racing has propelled him into other classes, including Modified Karts, Single Buggy, Pro Buggy, Pro Lite, and for 2016 Pro4 in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series. Many would consider Bradley Morris to be truly “Living The Dream.”

On January 4th, 2016 at 9 am EST, a new youtube.com/user/KNfilters video entitled “Living The Dream” featuring K&N LOORRS Pro4 Driver Bradley Morris will make its debut. While not a true to life biographical film, this K&N video will take a fun cinematic approach showing how many of us grow up to be racers or enthusiasts. The video will open with a young Bradley Morris, played by his little brother, on Christmas Morning. Young Bradley wakes to find two RC cars under the tree for him; the K&N Edition Pro Lite Truck and a K&N Ford Mustang.

The video follows young Bradley as he discovers a talent for driving his K&N Edition Pro Lite Truck and K&N Ford Mustang radio control cars and progresses into driving real life versions of these vehicles. The K&N YouTube video entitled “Living The Dream” featuring K&N LOORRS Pro4 Driver Bradley Morris will launch January 4th, 2016 at 9 am EST. The video will also be hosted on the K&N website at knfilters.com/dream. Be sure to follow K&N at facebook.com/knfilters for several short teaser videos that will be leaked leading up to the official “Living The Dream” debut.

Jane Thurmond Positively Represents K&N Air Filters at the 2015 OUSCI in Las Vegas

Jane Thurmond, and her 1964 Chevy Corvette named Scarlett

Female racer Jane Thurmond, and her 1964 Chevy Corvette named Scarlett, were chosen to represent K&N Air Filters at the 2015 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N

A highly anticipated invitation only race follows the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada each year. Optima Batteries, in cooperation with the Ultimate Street Car Association (USCA) puts on the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N Performance Air Filters. Throughout the 2015 season, the USCA promoted nine K&N sponsored nationwide Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car events as an opportunity to qualify for a highly coveted spot in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.

2015 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N

The 2015 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N was a bit more difficult for Jane Thurmond because her husband Greg was also competing and could not lend as much help

Female racer Jane Thurmond was chosen to represent K&N Air Filters at the 2015 OUSCI event. Jane races a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette nicknamed Scarlett. Jane and her husband originally built Scarlett as a show car, but it has morphed into a highly competitive street & track car. In 2014 Jane Thurmond earned a USCA Spirit of the Event award which got her into the K&N supported Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational for the first time. Jane had a lot resting on her shoulders going into the 2015 OUSCI, however her ability to keep calm under pressure, and her bubbly personality helped her sail through the weekend.

Jane, a mother of three, is married to Greg Thurmond who runs GTS Customs in Simi Valley, California. Jane began racing when she decided she'd had enough of waiting on the sidelines and wanted to do something more exciting. Her driving has progressed so much that she now teaches performance driving techniques to help others get into the sport. USCA events are broken into classes based on vehicle type, and skill level. However, the OUSCI does not make these distinctions and while this does make it tough for the underdogs, it did provide Jane Thurmond an opportunity to prove that she’s just as good a driver as the boys.

2015 OUSCI Autocross course

While most people got lost their first time on the 2015 OUSCI Autocross course, Jane Thurmond’s preparation paid off as she drove her way around the course flawlessly, not missing a beat

Jane Thurmond and her 1964 Chevrolet Corvette nicknamed Scarlett

Jane Thurmond and her 1964 Chevrolet Corvette nicknamed Scarlett are able to excel in the OUSCI Speed Stop Challenge as Scarlett has been equipped with an anti-lock braking system

What would make the 2015 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N Air Filters more difficult for Jane Thurmond was the fact that her husband Greg was also competing and would not be able to act as Jane’s trackside support. This was the first time the couple would be focusing on two separate vehicles by themselves. Luckily for Jane she isn’t new to racing and her past experience at the 2014 OUSCI, Camarillo Autocross, and the 2015 Las Vegas Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car race served her well.

Jane and fellow competitor Brandy Phillips spent over half an hour memorizing the autocross course beforehand. Luckily, the course was very similar to her hometown Camarillo Autocross set up that she races each month. So while most of the people got lost, Jane navigated her way around the autocross flawlessly, not missing a beat. She was part of the morning group and even with cold tires and poor track conditions she still managed some pretty quick track times; eventually setting her quickest laps at the end of the session.

Next up for Jane was the Speed Stop Challenge. There, competitors are tasked with navigating a portion of a short banked oval track as quickly as possible before coming to a complete stop in a 40’ stretch designated as the stop box, without going over. Jane and her 1964 Chevrolet Corvette nicknamed Scarlett are able to excel in this portion of the OUSCI as Scarlett has been equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). Plus Jane has seemingly mastered the art of pushing her car to a precision stop.

1964 Chevy Corvette on track

Jane Thurmond hit the 2015 OUSCI road course portion of the event in her 1964 Corvette and immediately noticed that she was on track with larger, much more powerful cars

The next day, Sunday November 9th, 2015, is probably the most exciting portion of the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational event. Sunday’s competition consisted of the Hot Lap Challenge on the road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The event was split into four groups and Jane was slotted into the Intermediate A group. Jane hit the course that morning around 9:30 and immediately noticed that she was on track with larger, much more powerful cars. Fortunately she and Scarlett held their own and put down some quick laps in each session.

At the end of the weekend, Jane Thurmond drove Scarlett to a 66th place finish out of 90 competitors. While everyone would like to go out and win, not everyone can or ever will. In fact, Jane’s primary goal was to go out and have a great time. The simple fact that more than 25% of the field experienced mechanical issues; some of them race ending issues, while Jane and Scarlett had zero mechanical issues all weekend is cause for celebration in itself.

Jane Thurmond drove her 1964 Corvette Scarlett to a 66th place

At the end of the weekend Jane Thurmond held her own as just one of seven female competitors and drove her 1964 Corvette Scarlett to a 66th place finish out of 90 competitors

Secondly Jane wanted to do her best to represent her sponsors; and this doesn’t always have to be done in the winner’s circle. Janes electrifying personality makes her a natural when it comes to being on camera. More than once Jane Thurmond was filmed for the MAVTV coverage of the 2015 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N Air Filters. Plus, regardless of how she placed being one of just 7 female competitors at the 2015 OUSCI is sure to encourage more women to try their hand at racing.

Jane and her husband Greg Thurmond are one of few married couples entering autocross and pro-touring competitions together, and at the same time, against one another. Greg’s bright orange 1963 Widebody C2 Chevy Corvette, which he unveiled at the 2015 SEMA Show, has aptly been nicknamed Scar. Naming his C2 Corvette Scar both compliments Jane’s car while at the same time provoking it, and should make for a great show as Jane and Scarlett eventually go up against Greg’s GTS Customs built Widebody ‘Vette named Scar.
