K&N sponsored Jonathan Allard competed in two sprint car events over the weekend
at two different tracks. On Friday there was a night of action at the Silver
Dollar Speedway in Chico, California and on Saturday the Williams Motorsports
Team went down to the Antioch Speedway in Antioch, California.
K&N Filters No.0 Sprint Car
Allard qualified fourth on Friday with the K&N Filters No. 0. He recorded the
fastest lap of the session and was able to line up on the outside of the second
row in the final heat race. Allard moved up to second place by lap two, but
could not pass Shawn Wright. Allard ended the race with a second place finish
which guaranteed him a spot in the 25 lap main event.

There is a state mandated 11 pm curfew for all the classes. The night was
running long and officials had to cut the laps for the main event back to 20.
Allard started on the outside of the fourth row and had to move quickly with the
limited amount of laps. By lap nine he was on the back bumper of leader Sean
Becker. Allard made contact with another driver and both flipped over at turn
three. That was the end of a promising night and finished with the Williams
Motorsports K&N Filters No. 0 in fourteenth position.
On Saturday, Allard entered the Golden State Challenge Series at Antioch second
in points. He qualified fifth out of 25 cars. Allard was the only driver in the
heat who was able to make passes. He made it to the rear of the leader and took
the win on the final lap to gain 5 points toward the championship.
“We use K&N Engineering Oil and Air Filters along with K&N’s Carbon Fiber Air
Box,” said Allard. “K&N makes the best products, the oil and air filters are
easy to use and maintain.”
Allard will compete at Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday night for Round 3 of
the Feather Falls Casino point series in Chico. On Saturday he will be at Ocean
Speedway in Watsonville for Round 8 of the Golden State Challenge Series.

Jeff Arend is headed to Las Vegas, Nevada for this weekend’s NHRA
SummitRacing.com Nationals. The blue Checker, Schuck’s Kragen Funny Car driver
is hoping for a pair of pocket aces.
CSK Funny Car Driver Jeff Arend
In the NHRA POWERade tour, Arend advanced to the semi-final at the season
opening race. He was in the No. 11 qualifying position before bowing out to
Robert Hight. At Phoenix he was in the 16th and final spot before bowing out
quickly in the first round. He was stronger with a No.4 qualifying spot in the
K&N Filters car at Gainesville and a No. 8 position in Houston, but Arend has
been unable to capitalize in the form of round wins.
Team Worsham and Jeff Arend use K&N products
The Team Worsham CSK driver aims to reverse his situation this weekend, in what
will most likely be his final race with a Monte Carlo body on his car. “It
looked like it was going to come right down to the last minute, as to whether we
have the new Impala on the car or not, but it’s just a little behind at the
paint shop and we’d have to pull some all-nighters to get it ready,” said Arend.
“We’ve been running well in the Monte Carlo, so I’m confident we’re in for a
very good weekend. We’ve been in the top half of the field at two straight
races, and these days that’s pretty hard to do. Drag racing is a tough business
and we got edged out by inches in Houston.”
Arend will be going to Las Vegas ranked in the top eight. “We’ve been above the
cut line since we started in Pomona, and the main focus for everyone on this
team is to stay there,” he said. “If we keep running well, and I keep doing my
job, we should be able to qualify high and win some rounds. Winning the first
round is the toughest, and probably the most critical, so that’s the first order
of business this weekend and every weekend.”
We know, with our K&N Engineering Oil Filters on our cars, that we can have
confidence in our lubrication system, and that’s critical to success in this
high-performance sport, said Team Manager Bob Wilber.

The Ford Fiesta comes in a variety of bold colors and trims that are designed to
suit different lifestyles. Ford also offers an enhanced list of standard
features for extra style and comfort, such as remote central locking and power
windows.
Air Intake for Ford Fiesta 2.0L
K&N Engineering has released a new 69-series Typhoon Air Intake (69-4002TB) in
powder coated blue for the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Ford Fiesta 2.0 liter engine. These vehicles are found in many parts of the world, however, they are not sold in the US and Canada.
The aerodynamic design of this complete cold air intake was made by K&N engineers to provide a custom fit for the Fiesta. "This Typhoon Performance Intake Kit was made in the UK together with the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Group," said K&N Product Development Technician Patrick Jacobs. "The prototype was tested on four
different cars. People who have driven the car with this Typhoon Kit are amazed that it could make such a difference."
The K&N Air Filter (RC-9310) mounts under the front of the bumper which allows
the typhoon to get a consistent flow of cool fresh air for additional power. K&N Typhoon Systems improve engine performance. A K&N Drycharger filter wrap is included. Installation of this air induction system should take no more than 90 minutes using basic tools.
The Toyota Corolla is one of the most reliable cars on the road. It is
economical and relatively easy to maintain. It also retains its value very well
and is one of the most popular resale cars in the market.
Air Intake for Toyota Corolla
K&N Engineering, Inc. has released a new polished 69-Series Typhoon Air Intake
System (69-8754TP)
for the 2002 through 2008 Toyota Corolla 1.4 and 1.6 liter engines. Corolla's with these engines are very popular in Europe and Asia.
K&N Engineering's high flow technology is applied to a large conical open
element K&N Air Filter (RU-4960).
This provides more surface area for huge increases in airflow and power you can
feel. Typhoon Air Intake Systems offer the best possible horsepower with a
more stylish appearance.
The design of the Corolla played a major role in the making of this K&N Cold Air Intake System. The replacement K&N Air Filter is placed on top of the engine, in
place of the original air box. The aluminum tube fits directly onto the throttle
body.
There is a thorough development procedure for all K&N 69-Series Typhoon Air Intakes which requires the use of multiple test vehicles. The Toyota Corolla is
one of the best selling cars worldwide and finding donor vehicles for testing
in Europe was not a problem.
