Luxury BMW and Ford GT Supercar Owners Get Best Cartridge Oil Filter from K&N

BMW made its entry into the luxury SUV market with the X5. It is designed for on-road performance and handling. Ford also made its entry into the luxury supercar market with its new low-volume 550 hp GT. Inspired by the legendary GT40 racer that posted at Daytona and Le Mans, it is capable of going past 200 mph.

K&N Engineering has designed a Cartridge Oil Filter (PS-7007) for several different BMW models from 1996 to 2009, the 2005 and 2006 Ford GT and 2009 Volvo S80, V70, XC70 and XC90 models. It is designed to satisfy the needs of owners who want the very best oil filter available.

K&N Oil Filters are built from the ground up to trap harmful contaminants. A replacement gasket is included to ensure a positive seal on the cartridge housing to the engine block. K&N's HP-7004 slips into the OE housing for an easy fit.

K&N's Cartridge Oil Filters are covered by a limited warranty to be free of defects in material and workmanship when installed and replaced using the engine and equipment manufacturer's recommended service interval.

K&N Engineering has developed an Air Induction System (57A-6033) for 2007 and 2008 Mini Cooper and Mini One and 2009, 2010 and 2011 Mini Cooper 1.6L and Mini Cooper Clubman 1.6L with the manual transmission. It is designed with the Apollo, a closed system designed to eliminate hot air problems and provide the benefits of an open cone filter and standard airbox in one unit.

The Apollo mounts directly into the cold air inlet to retrieve cooler outside air, which means better performance. Other hardware is included to connect the system to the throttle body.

All adaptors for the K&N Cold Air Induction Systems are made from high quality materials such as steel, aluminum, silicone or reinforced nylon to ensure longevity. It takes 90 minutes or less to install this kit with simple hand tools.

Carlsbad Teen Makes Podium in Gatorz Karting Cup Rotax Max Challenge Series

Jacob Pearlman (JP) earned his second podium finish in the Rotax Max Challenge Series at Willow Springs Raceway Kart Track in Rosamond, California.

The kart track at Willow Springs is a challenging .625 mile, 11 turn circuit. “It is predominately left turns with a great deal of grip,” said Jacob Pearlman’s father Richard Pearlman. “The track tends to eat up tires quickly. Finding and maintaining a fast set up during race day is a real challenge.”

The 14-year-old from Carlsbad, California was not as fast as he thought he would be and struggled to get the kart dialed in. In the pits the temperature hit more than 100 degrees. JP’s crew continued to work on getting his DPK/Birel M-31 prepared for the 30 lap final.

In the midday heat JP had a great start and immediately moved up to 4th. He moved his way up to 2nd, but it did not last long. Lou Pagano and Cameron Jocelyn passed on the next lap and JP dropped back to 4th. “My son returned the favor on Pagano, taking back 3rd place with a tight pass on the following lap,” said Pearlman. “Jacob and Pagano spent the next 22 laps fighting for the final spot on the podium. Jacob refused to give up the spot and slowly edged away to take the last spot on the podium.”

The Pearlman Family uses K&N Products. “To get to Willow Springs Raceway we have to traverse several steep grades to elevations approaching 5000 feet and temperatures at 100 degrees,” said Richard Pearlman. “Towing a 5000 pound racing trailer under these conditions can be very hard on our GMC Yukon tow vehicle. Our K&N Cold Air Induction System is critical to ensuring that we have the extra horsepower and reliability needed to make it to any track on our race schedule.”

JP will return to racing on June 9th at Moran Raceway with the Tri-C Karters. The teen will spend the next two weeks getting ready for his freshman final exams along with some on-track testing to prepare for his summer racing schedule.

Cadillac and Saturn Owners Get High Flow Rates with K&N Cartridge Oil Filter

The Saturn L Series was based on the European Opel Vectra, but modified for the U.S. market. The Catera was also produced from an Opel design and was intended as a different kind of Cadillac. It was made without a V8 engine.
