Jonathan Allard used a front row starting spot at Kings Speedway in Hanford,
California to lead all 30 laps of the 410 Cotton Classic feature and win the
cotton bail trophy for the second time in his career.

The Chico, California racer’s victory was his 11th of the 2007 season in
the 410 winged sprint car class and took him to the record books. Allard beat
out Brent Kaeding’s total of nine 410 wins.

K&N Filters No. 0
“We really like racing at Kings Speedway,” said Allard. “It’s also great to see
all the fans come back and support the Cotton Classic. I hope we can do this for
years to come.”
Allard lined up on the outside of the front row in the K&N Filters No.0 at the
start of the main event. As he took the lead, the yellow lights came on and
forced a complete restart. This time Allard had a great jump off turn four and
led the 21 car field in the contest.
There were numerous stops throughout the race for hazards and it slowed the
flow. Allard had nothing to worry about until the midway point. San Jose’s Tim
Kaeding was able to move around Ronnie Day for second place. Allard was able to
keep a safe distance between himself and Kaeding as the laps wound down and the
checkered flag waved, Allard brought the K&N Filters No. 0 home in victory lane.
“The whole crew gave me a great car,” said Allard. “The dirt on the tracks is
very tough on racing engines. Out team knows we don’t have to worry because we
have the K&N air box. It’s easy to maintain and allows us to achieve maximum
horsepower every night. Horsepower equals winning.”
Allard plans to race in Australia after Christmas and began with the World of
Outlaws in February.

The 2007 Las Vegas Bracket Nationals have gone away with the Thanksgiving
leftovers, but the holiday race was a blast for K&N Engineering Project Manger
and Super Pro driver Jonathan Fiello.
Jonathan Fiello at Las Vegas Bracket Nationals
Teams from 20 states and two Canadian provinces converged on the four-day
Thanksgiving weekend race at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “Competition
was tough,” said Fiello. “There were at least 180 cars.”
Jonathan Fiello
Fiello owns a 2003 undercover dragster with a 635 cubic inch big block
Chevrolet with K&N Engineering products. It is fuel injected on alcohol and runs
about 1200 horsepower.
For the Bracket Nationals, he raced Carl Cannavo’s 2007 Yancer Dragster 598
cubic inch big block Chevrolet. “Carl is my good friend and we make a good
team,” said Fiello. “He does the set up for the race and I do the driving.”
Competitors had to go nine rounds for a final opportunity to win $5,000. Fiello
did well on Thursday and lost in the 6th round. “On Friday, I lost in the 3rd
round and Saturday I lost in the 6th round,” he said. “On Sunday we blew a head
gasket in the motor. Overall, it was a blast.”
The bracket nationals put a lot of wear and tear on the race vehicles. “We used
K&N oil filter (HP-3002) and a K&N air filter on Carl’s car,” said
Fiello. “The K&N air filter keeps the dirt and particles from the track out of
the engine and increases horsepower. The oil filter meets all our demands as
racers. The heavy duty construction and sturdy one-inch wrench nut make oil
filter removal quick and easy. The K&N oil filter also keeps our motor clean.”
Fiello did not participate in the $45,000 Ultimate Gambler. “The car was
struggling too much for us to spend the $1,000 entry fee,” he said. “Kyle Seipel
defeated K&N racer Peter Biondo to claim the big money.” However, Biondo won the
Madcap Ultimate Engine Giveaway Presented by Mike’s Transmissions.
The next race for Fiello will be at Las Vegas in late January. He will start
testing his own car there in the NHRA Top Comp Class.

The Ford F150 series is one of the best selling vehicles in the United States
and closes in on the million unit mark annually. The F-150 is tailored for the
person who uses it for a daily commute as well as for serious towing or hauling. The 2007 Ford F150 models with the 4.6 liter engine use K&N's 57-2574 performance intake system.

K&N dynamometer testing shows a 9.88 horsepower gain @ 4200 RPM with these systems. K&N
designers removed the OE air box and intake and built a larger intake system to
open up the breathing capacity necessary for the 4.6 liter engine to get the
full amount of air it needs.

The K&N air intake design provides excellent air filtration and lower restriction
than the factory air box system for an immediate power gain. All the OE
emissions devices are reused and the MAS placed in a location that works with factory settings.
A large chrome top K&N high flow air filter (RF-1041) allows free flowing air
into the intake tube and increased dirt capacity. K&N also incorporated a
radius adapter to help smooth out air flow coming through the air filter.
The heat shield assembly is installed into the engine bay using factory mounting
points. The heat shield isolates the K&N air filter from the hotter temperatures
around the engine and allows it to receive a consistent flow of fresh cooler
air.
