K&N Oil Filter Available for Land Rover, Jaguar, Thunderbird and Lincoln Owners

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport, the Jaguar, Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird are distinctly different when it comes to design and looks. For the owner, it comes down to a matter of personal preference when it's time to purchase any one of these luxury or sporty vehicles.

K&N's Performance Gold Oil Filter HP-1014
K&N Engineering has developed a Performance Gold Oil Filter (HP-1014) for the above mentioned models from 2002 through 2010. Designed for high-performance engines, they deliver outstanding filtration at high flow rates to keep your motor running clean and smooth.

To satisfy our consumers and racers, our oil filters are designed to go over and above the needs of most vehicles. K&N oil filters have thick canister walls for extra strength and durability. This reduces the risks of damage from loose rocks and debris.

HP-1014, like other K&N Performance Gold Oil Filters, is constructed with a sturdy one inch wrench nut. It is welded to the top of the canister and can be wrenched-off easily with a standard tool.

K&N Performance Gold Oil Filters are covered by a limited warranty to be free from defects in materials and workmanship when installed and replaced using engine and equipment manufacturer's recommended service.

“I race a Kawasaki 250f and a Kawasaki 450f,” said Howell. “Amateur day gives me a chance to show my skills on a slightly tamed down track. I love the intense competition and I love to practice because I can always become a better rider.”

“Howell also won the Schoolboy and 450B classes at BooKoo Arenacross Amateur Day in Yakima, Washington. “Both of the tracks (at Salem and Yakima) are really tight and it’s tough to pass,” said Howell. “I usually compete against anywhere from seven to eighteen people, depending on the class.”

Howell uses K&N Engineering Air and Oil Filters KA-2506XD, KN-207 and KN-112. “I really like K&N Filters,” said Howell. “The power gains are noticeable throughout the whole power band. I really like that I can go longer on K&N Filters and they are easy to change and clean.”

The high school sophomore  plans to race in most of the amateur nationals in 2007 including Lake Whitney, World Mini GP, Ponca City and Loretta Lynn’s.

IHRA Team Makes it to NHRA Finals at Houston Raceway Park

Bayou Boyz Slate Cummings made his NHRA 2007 debut at Houston Raceway Park for the Lucas Oil Division Series Race. Backed by his Moser Engineering Racing Team, Cummings added a runner-up finish in Super Stock to his resume. He has a successful record in the bracket racing arena driving his Moser Engineering Pontiac Grand Am.

At Houston, Cummings faced five rounds of tough competition and a final round match-up with contender Jerry Emmons. The battle ended quickly when Cummings lit the red-light by .001, handing Emmons an automatic win.

“It was a heartbreaking race,” said Larry Cummings, father of Bayou Boyz Racers, Slate and Britt. “It was also a relief, because after racing in the NHRA for two years we made it to the finals. It was a huge boost in confidence for our team. We have a good record in the IHRA and we’re going after a good record in the NHRA.”

In addition to his runner-up finish in Super Stock, Slate Cummings advanced to the fourth round in Super Comp. Mechanical problems hit hard and hurt his run with eventual runner-up Tommy Costales.

“We put up a good weekend all around,” said Britt Cummings. “Slate went a bunch of rounds and earned some valuable points. Overall, I’m content with where the team is headed. At this point last year we were upside down with our engine program and it took half the season to get everything straight. Now we’re where we need to be in every class that we run.”

Slate Cummings recorded a huge 186.78 mph at the 8.90 index in his Moser Super Comp Dragster. The teams Camaro also ran a 10.45 (11.65 Index) with Britt Cummings at the wheel. The family affair continued as patriarch Larry Cummings recorded an 11.31 in his 1968 Camaro (12.45 Index).

The Bayou Boyz use K&N Engineering products on all their vehicles. “Our K&N Oil and Air Filters are very dependable,” said Larry Cummings. “We’ve never had a problem at any racing event with K&N.”

The Cummings Motorsports Team have a weekend off before the second NHRA Lucas Oil Division Event on the NHRA Division 4 Schedule March 2-4. They will race at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, Louisiana.

This weekend, when Arend rolls to the starting line in his Checker, Schuck’s Kragen/ Erie Educational Services Funny Car it will be in the No. 3 spot on the POWERade chart. Arend has 72 points in the bank, coming off a semi-final finish at Pomona.

“In terms of our whole program, having my team mate Del Worsham barely miss the field in Pomona was obviously a bad thing,” Arend said. “We could have put our heads down and just been depressed about it, but instead we got together and made sure we picked the whole organization up with a very good day. To make it to the semi-final at the season’s first race is a great way to start. To give Del and his guys not only a lift, but a lot of good data to work from, was also great.”

Worsham was bumped out of the quickest field in Funny Car history at the Winternationals, and was looking at the worst possible start to his season. From Pomona the teams headed over to Las Vegas and Worsham made 10 laps in three days. “Now we have to make it pay off at the Checker, Schuck’s, Kragen Nationals,” said Worsham. “There is no negativity around here at all. Once it was all over and the race was complete, we could look on the points sheet and see that we’re exactly one round of racing behind John Force, Tommy Johnson, Eric Medlen, Jack Beckman, Ashley Force and some others. It was not the end of the world, it didn’t eliminate us from contention and now we’re headed to Phoenix.”

Arend is the new blue team driver and said he is proud to put on his blue uniform shirt. “I can look in the mirror and see so many logos and I know there are real people behind those logos,” said Arend. “Those people believe in Worsham Racing and I can’t overstate how awesome that feeling is. I also can’t tell you how great it is to drive for Del, his father Chuck, and my co-crew chiefs, Marc Denner and Chris Cunningham. I’m living a dream right now.”

Worsham Racing uses K&N Engineering products on both of their CSK Monte Carlo Funny Cars. “The thick canister walls on the K&N Oil Filters have extra strength and durability,” said Team Manager Bob Wilber. “It reduces the risk of damage from debris on the race track. We never missed a minute of racing due to any filter failure. Our drivers run on the track at 330 mph, and we never have to worry with K&N.”

There is also stress and pressure with the dream to win. “This will be good, positive pressure,” Arend said. “The bad pressure is trying to get to this spot, making one or two races a year. Real pressure is to temporarily give up on the dream, like I did from 2001 to 2003 when the funding wasn’t there and I had to get a real job. Bad pressure having to qualify to get the money to pay for all the parts you’ve used. That’s serious pressure. This is an honor, and our team will be working overtime.”

Kvapil Makes History at Daytona in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Race

In one of the most exciting races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Travis Kvapil finished third in the No.6 K&N Engineering Ford F-150 at Daytona International Speedway. He is part of Daytona history with the eighth closest finish in the Series' record books.

“Daytona can be tough,” said Jack Roush, owner of Roush Industries, Inc. “Travis did everything he needed to do. A lot of times you can have the fastest vehicle and still not win.”

Kvapil started the race in 4th position and put the K&N Ford at the top of the leader board at lap 18. He ran in front of the field until lap 23 when a caution involving several trucks and lots of debris changed things. Crew Chief Mike Beam called the K&N No.6 to pit road. Kvapil restarted 8th at lap 29 and was back in front by lap 37. He continued dominating until Benson pushed Sprague around Kvapil at turn four, bringing the three trucks to the finish line. Sprage took the win with a mere 0.31 second margin of victory.

“I’ve been here before and I knew that was going to happen,” said Kvapil. “I got down the backstretch and looked in my mirror and thought I’m too far on these guys. Either way, if I just held it wide open, they would have passed me earlier. I’m disappointed. I was dragging on the brake down the backstretch and trying to split the air between those two guys. In doing that I lost a lot of my own momentum. Our K&N F-150 was the best truck out there and I feel like I let down the guys on the team. I don’t know how I could have done it any better. If I moved up we would have wrecked, so I needed to give him just enough room and unfortunately it cost me the win. I’m really proud of everybody with Roush Fenway Racing. They gave me the best truck in testing and I had the best truck out there. As for K&N, we just signed them last Thursday for Daytona, so we’re really happy to get them out front most of the night.”

“I am a customer and proponent of K&N,” said Roush. “From our prospective K&N products have provided us with performance over the last decade.”

“We’re thrilled to team up with Travis Kvapil and Roush Fenway Racing,” said Charles Maier, Sports Marketing Director of K&N Engineering. “Roush Racing, now Roush Fenway Fracing has been in the business of winning races for many years and we are pleased to be associated at Daytona and look forward to an on-going business relationship with the new joint venture.”

Kvapil is tied for second in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings, just 15 points out of the lead. The next race is at California Speedway on February 23.
