Josh Toth is establishing himself as one of the rising talents in Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC) racing. The young AmPro Yamaha rider has seized the top podium spot in each of the first three rounds of the GNCC XC2 Class.

Round 1: Big Buck – Union, South Carolina

Toth and Layne Michael engaged in a fast and entertaining back-and-forth battle for the lead at the Big Buck Farm in the GNCC first round. Toth secured the lead after a mid-race pass and held that lead for the checkered flag.

“I got off to a good start, and was able to work my way into the lead on the first lap,” said Toth. “I knew Michael was right behind me so I just kept pushing and it paid off.”

Craig DeLong finished in third behind Toth and Michael, followed by Michael Witkowski and Austin Lee.

Round 2: Wild Boar - Palatka, Florida

The Hogwaller course features the sandy soil typical of Florida. However that sand mixed with black dirt and a few tough mud holes makes it particularly challenging. Toth adjusted to the ever-changing course conditions and rode his YZ250FX to his second XC2 win. He also secured an amazing 4th overall in the round.

Craig Delong and Layne Michael finished second and third behind Toth.

Round 3: Cannonball – Sparta, Georgia

Toth worked his way through the pack to claim the checkered flag on the Hill Family Farm track. Again, Toth's ability to adapt to the varying track conditions that are thrown his way has been a factor in his podium streak. Toth roosted in the red clay soil and conquered the rocky sections to earn his third straight win of the season.

Michael Witkowski finished in second and Jesse Groemm in third.

Toth will look to continue his dominance in the GNCC 4th round at Steel Creek in Morganton, North Carolina.

Brad Keselowksi Wins the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway

Brad Keselowski celebrates his win in the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway

Brad Keselowski won the sixth Monster Energy Cup Series race of the season at Martinsville Speedway, in Virginia, on Sunday. This was the 23rd victory of Keselowski’s career, and his second win of the season. The win at Martinsville was his first win of his career.

“You know, the two wins this year have both come at tracks that I haven't won at before and we haven't won at as a team before, so certainly that feels really good to be able to check something off the list, and with everything else that goes into today, there seemed to be a lot of numerology today with this being the Penske team's 1,000th start here in this series, and it's been a long time since Ford won here,” Keselowski said.

Keselowski led four times for a total of 116 laps to secure his second win of the season. He won 55 points and is in fourth place in the Monster Energy Cup Series standings.

“But it felt like we were due, and if you ever can be, this is probably one of those tracks, and today was one of those days where we persevered in a special way with the battle there with Kyle at the end I thought was a lot of fun to be a part of,” Keselowski said regarding the outcome of the race.

Kyle Busch finished in second place and led for a race-high 7 times and 274 laps. Busch and Keselowski swapped leads during the last 100, with Keselowski ultimately coming out on top.

“He was way better than we were at that time” Busch said. “Just wasn't the same. Our car definitely changed there for the last run of the race, and we just didn't have what we needed in order to have the speed that we had all the rest of the day. We were able to drive away from the field. We led a lot of laps. We really had no contention there from a lot of people, just passed halfway the rest of the way to the end, and then you put a set of tires on and you lose three-tenths. That was pretty shameful, but we come home P2. So that's all we had.”

Chase Elliott finished in third place and led twice for 20 laps. Elliott was in first place at the conclusion of Stage 2 and received 1 playoff point.

“For me, at this place I was much more improved than I've ever been here in the past, which I thought was great,” Elliott said. “This is such an important race, especially when you come back here in the fall, it's not a place that you can just get by with running bad in life, expect to just go on in the playoffs if you're a part of it.”

Martin Truex Jr and Chase Elliott won both stages of the Martinsville race, both receiving 1 playoff point. Keselowski is in the lead for the playoff standings with 10 points.

Kyle Larson leads the the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series standings with 268 points and 6 playoff points. Chase Elliott is in second place with 264 points and 2 playoff points. Martin Truex Jr is in third place with 236 points and 9 playoff points.

The next race in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will be at O’Reilly Auto Parts 500.

K&N Orion-Equipped Cars Enjoy Wins in British Touring Car Championship Opener

Over a third of the British Touring Car Championship field runs the K&N Orion intake system

Over a third of the British Touring Car Championship field runs the K&N Orion intake system

This past weekend saw the opening 3 rounds of the 2017 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Brands Hatch Racing Circuit in the UK. This ultra-competitive series features manufacturers such as BMW, Toyota, Honda, and Mercedes amongst others, battling out in front of huge crowds over 30 races. K&N has long been involved with many of the teams, supplying air intakes systems for their 350+ brake horsepower 2.0L turbocharged cars. To start 2017, K&N Filters launched their new Orion intake system, which has been designed and developed using the knowledge built up over a numbers of seasons working our Championship winning supported teams.

The K&N 54-5000 Orion intake system is unique in that it is a fully enclosed intake system that can be located just about anywhere. This is helpful in race cars because often times these cars are built from the ground up and not off a previously built vehicle. This can mean that there are no provisions for an intake system. Just an engine in a bare engine bay. The K&N Orion intake system allows for the air box to be mounted in an optimal location with the 85-6004 mounting bracket and it can be plumbed to the air inlet with the 85-6000 flexible hose kit.

Race 2 saw two more podium finishes for the Orion, with Rob Collard in the stunning West Surrey Racing BMW 1 Series taking 2nd and Tom Ingram in 3rd. Race 3 produced a clean sweep of podium places for the Orion, with the win going to Colin Turkington, 2nd place to Andrew Jordan both piloting the BMW 1 series, and 3rd spot for Tom Chilton in the brand new Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astra.

Rob Carpenter and One Wheel Revolution Gearing Up for the Summer Mayhem

Watch Rob Carpenter tearing up a winter wonderland on his One Wheel Revolution Stunster

The spring thaw is starting in One Wheel Revolution’s (1WR) home base of Montana. It’s possible that 1WR’s V-twin engines have added a few degrees to the state’s average daily temperature. “It is just finally warming up enough to ride on a weekly basis here in Montana," said 1WR’s founder Rob Carpenter. “After finishing these bike re-builds, I couldn’t wait to burn rubber and some clutch plates.”

One Wheel Revolution is a travelling stunt show that thrills crowds around the country with jaw-dropping, one-of-a-kind performances on Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. The Revolution’s choreographed shows are high on drama, skill, and entertainment, and the company has new and exciting elements to unveil in this new season.

While the new show elements are yet to be seen, the new and updated stunt bikes are ready for action. Though it may be true that the Montana thaw is on, Carpenter headed south to test the hardware.

“I packed up and headed to the desert around Las Vegas,” said Carpenter. “I met some rad people, rode in a couple new spots, a couple old ones, and scoped out some cool scenery for future shoots.”

“I tried to shoot as many still photos of the bikes in their glory and their pre-thrashed state as possible. Between the drainage, overflow, and desert area it was a nice contrast of scenery,” Carpenter said.

Like all of the 1WR bikes, the Trackster breathes through a K&N intake

So let’s take a sneak peek at some of the new and updated V-twin hardware that audiences can expect in the 1WR shows throughout the country in 2017.

The One Wheel Revolution Stuntster has been totally rebuilt for the new slate of performances. Carpenter calls it, “A refreshed version of the Red Dragon wheelie machine.” The blacked-out engine and components alongside the deep red bodywork make for a clean, all-business stunt mount.

An all new star of 1WR shows will be the Trackster. Carpenter calls the burnt orange Harley, “Part Tracker, part off-road bike, part wheelie machine, and all Sportster!” Wearing dual exhausts, knobbies, and a huge rear sprocket, the Trackster will certainly be a hit at this season’s performances.

Of course, every 1WR stunt bike is fully equipped with K&N performance and protection products.

“Thanks for sending all those parts so I could keep things on schedule,” Carpenter told K&N. “All the show machines are now in proper order and ready for a season of thrashing across the country! Now it’s time to finally get the Dyna ready for some action. The custom K&N black and gold intake for it will catch some eyes for sure!”

Take a look at the photos of the One Wheel Revolution stunt bikes and make sure to catch a show at a motorcycle event near you. We will keep you updated on the 1WR shows as their full schedule develops.

Matt Shylan Set to Tackle Production Touring Car Series with Help From K&N Filters

Matt Shylan will unveil his K&N Filters Integra Type R at the NSW Production Touring Car Round 1

Matt Shylan will unveil his K&N Filters Integra Type R at the NSW Production Touring Car Round 1

New South Wales state racer Matt Shylan has revealed a stunning new K&N livery on his Honda Integra Type R ahead of this weekend’s opening round of the NSW Production Touring Car Championship.

Shylan enters his second season in the category and is confident of strong results in the D Class, despite predictions it will be the toughest of the field.

“D Class will be one of the biggest on the grid, and there is a lot of strong competition,” Shylan said. “There’s the likes of Jimmy Vernon, who is pretty quick and the GTI Golf of Josh Muggleton, but I’m confident we’ll be in the mix this year. We learnt a lot in our first season racing the Integra last year, and this year we’re ready to give it a red-hot crack.”

Shylan’s Integra has a strong history in Australian motor sport, originally built as a Honda factory car ahead of the Bathurst 12 Hour and was one of the cars in Conroy Motorsport’s 1-2 finish in 2009.

Production Touring Car regulations mean the Integra has to remain true to its showroom specifications, with a standard 2.0L engine, standard gearbox, limited slip differential and factory Brembo brakes.

Shylan Motorsport utilises K&N filters throughout the race car, including the HP Series oil filter and high flow air filter.

“K&N products have made maintenance simple,” Shylan said. “Being a Japanese model, the oil filter is difficult to get to, so the team loves the ability to be able to tighten and loosen it with a spanner. K&N products give us certainty we have less to do at the track, and make it an easier service in the workshop.”

Shylan carries the K&N branding on his Integra for the first time at Wakefield Park Raceway, located two hours south of Sydney.

“It’s a privilege to carry K&N on the car. It’s such an iconic brand, and one of the most recognised in automotive circles," he said. "They have the best filters in the world, and we’re looking forward to a strong season of Production Touring Car racing with their support.”

The NSW Production Touring Car Series takes place over six rounds. Here is the 2017 NSW Production Touring Car Race schedule:

Round 1: 1-2 April - Wakefield Park (3 sprint races)

Round 2: 29-30 April - Sydney Motorsport Park (3 sprint races)

Round 3: 2-4 June - Lakeside Queensland (Enduro)

Round 4: 1-2 July - Sydney Motorsport Park (Enduro)

Round 5: 12-13 August - Wakefield Park (Enduro)

Round 6: 16-17 September - Sydney Motorsport Park (3 sprint races)
