Australian Jason Crump refused to give up at Denmark’s National indoor Arena in
Copenhagen despite suffering a major injury in Sweden only two weeks ago.

The 2004 and 2006 Grand Prix Champion claimed only 9 points for the night
and said he feels like the shadow of the rider he was only one year ago.

“I came here to get a good result and close the point gap, but my
performance was pretty average,” said Crump. “I’ve had a bad patch so far this
season and I’m dealing with it. There are seven more rounds to go, so there is
still hope. If I can return to the form I am accustomed to, there is no reason
why I cannot be challenging the leaders again.”
Sweden’s Andreas Jonsson stunned the crowd of 30.000 when he snatched the
victory from Denmark’s Nicki Penderson, Australian Leigh Adams and Polish
veteran Tomasz Gollob.
After 4 rounds Crump is 5th in the World Championship Standings. The 31-year-old

Round 5 of the 2007 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship will take place

Jonathan Allard is back. After starting the season a little slow the racer and
his Williams Motorsports Team have come around full force to win.

The 36th annual Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway is days away and Allard will
enter the playing field with some very stout runs under his belt. On Saturday he
picked up the 16th Golden State Challenge victory of his career. He is now in
the record books at fourth place on the GSC Series win list.

Allard kicked off the weekend on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway and
finished second in his heat to transfer the K&N No. 0 into the main event.
Allard began the 25 lap feature on the inside of the second row. He took the
lead from Robert Stice never looked back.
“I can’t express enough how much hard work my team puts into this deal and
allows me to just get in it and drive,” said Allard. “This adds up to five wins
at my home track this season.”
On Saturday, the Golden State Challenge Series moved to Petaluma Speedway.
Allard started off solid and won the heat race. In the 30 lap feature, the
defending GSC Champion made his move into second position on lap seven. On lap
nine Allard used traffic to slip under the leader but Brent Kaeding was able to
get around both.
For the rest of the race Allard and Kaeding navigated their way to first and
second place through thick traffic. Kaeding’s engine began to have problems and
Allard took the lead and went on to score the victory.

up to try and win the Dirt Cup for the third time in a row,” said Allard. “K&N

No one has won the Dirt Cup three consecutive times and Allard is hoping his
momentum continues. Nearly 60 cars, including all of California’s best are
expected to compete for the $25,000 first place prize. The event starts June
11th and ends on Father’s Day.

Travis Kvapil started third at Texas Motor Speedway and it looked like the No.6
K&N Filters Team was going to win big at Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series race.

The K&N Filters F-150 was strong in both practice and qualifying sessions
on Thursday and a win looked promising for Kvapil. Friday’s race was full of
cautions with the second one hitting on lap 16. Most of the field pitted while
Kvapil stayed out and took over the lead for the re-start on lap 24.

Kvapil charged ahead and one by one the No. 6 picked off the competition. The
Wisconsin native crossed the line 21st on lap 37 then went three-wide gaining
three positions and moving into 18th on lap 39. By lap 47 Kvapil was in the top
15 and on lap 59 he returned to the top 10.
On lap 87 Kvapil returned to the track from pit road in third for the re-start
and chased down the lead. He moved into second but the truck needed more rear
grip. Crew chief Mike Beam organized the K&N Team and called for Kvapil to pit
for the final time on lap 150. Kvapil returned to the track in second, but the
fifth caution flew just four laps later. The field came down for tires and fuel,
but Beam and Kvapil made the call to stay on the track and assume the first
place position.
With only five laps remaining, Kvapil led Todd Bodine and the rest of the field
around the track. As they came across the line for the second time, Bodine
tapped Kvapil from behind and sent him spinning. Kvapil almost had the K&N
Filters F-150 ready to return when he hit the interior wall. There was damage to
the radiator and the nose of the truck but Kvapil crossed the finish line in
sixth place. The crowd booed Bodine as he went on to win.
“Our K&N Ford was awesome,” said Kvapil. “We fought for position all night long
and had a great truck. It handled really well. I wanted to win so bad, in the
end it was just one of those things, it was just bad timing.”
Kvapil is currently sixth in points in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point
standings, just 12 points away from fifth. The team race next week at Michigan
International Speedway.

The National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA) recently recognized K&N
Engineering's web site with its 2007 President’s Award for Web Catalog
Excellence. KNFilters.com also
received the award in 2006.
“These awards recognize automotive aftermarket companies who have achieved
excellence in electronic cataloging,” reads a news release from the NCMA.
“You can say your site is the best designed, most easily
navigated, has the most content of any Web site as judged by the committee,”
said Mark Richardson, vice president of administration and publicity for the
NCMA. Judging criteria included design, navigation, catalog content, technology,
interactivity and innovation. “Overall, (KNFilters.com) scored the highest
average in each category,” Richardson said.
“It’s an honor to have KNFilters.com recognized by the NCMA,” said Mike Garner,
K&N’s systems development manager. “Receiving this award for the second year in
a row is an exceptional honor.”
"The quality of K&N’s online catalog starts with the data being accurate and
complete. Several groups at K&N work hard to provide accurate and complete
information, and this award is a nice recognition of their hard work, as well as
the work of our software developers, Garner said.
“Whenever you are judged by your peers, it means something to your customers and
potential customers,” Richardson said. “Also it’s a third-party confirmation of
your hard work.”
"The focus of K&N’s Web site has been to provide consumers and dealers with all
of the information they need and more," Garner said. "As soon as K&N releases a
product, it shows up on the Web site with images, specifications and all
available information. Many of our dealers use our Web site on a daily basis
because of this,” Garner said.
The web site also provides K&N dealers with a variety of product data, so they
can create their own K&N electronic catalogs with detailed product information.

“Since our first award last year, we have made several improvements to

Racer Chris Steele finished 4th in the 2006 FASTRAK National Series,
but his main competitor in FASTRAK Timbo Mangum, finished 2nd. The two racers battled at the same tracks last year and in 2007 they continue to battle for points at the same venues.

Steele and Mangum faced off in Richburg, South Carolina at the I-77 Speedway.
Steele drew pole position in the heat race, but his car was running a little off
and he finished in 2nd place.
The crew made a few minor adjustments between the heat and the main event.
Steele started in the 3rd spot and quickly moved up to 2nd place. The track
began to get some ruts in the middle of the turns and at times Mangum would pull
away 4 to 5 car lengths.
“At times I’d be within one length of Timbo but I couldn’t catch him,” said
Steele. “Timbo went on to win, I finished second and Johnny Pursley finished off
the podium at third place. Our K&N Engineering products worked awesome, as
always I really couldn’t picture racing without them.”
Look for the yellow #2 at the I-77 tonight and Cherokee Speedway on Saturday for
round #3 of the BIG 10 Series. Steele is hoping to win the race and especially beat his main competitor.
