On Saturday, Allard raced the K&N Filters No. 0 in the Golden State Challenge Series at Tulare. He started the evening by setting the second quickest lap in qualifying. Allard closed in on Brent Kaeding as the laps continued. He was on Kaeding’s bumper in the final lap, but ran out of time and settled for a third place finish.

During the 30 lap feature, Allard made a good jump on the first start and was immediately up to second place. He went back and forth between third and second over the next 15 laps. In the end he brought home a runner up finish.

“We use K&N Engineering Oil and Air Filters along with K&N’s Carbon Fiber Air Box,” said Allard. “K&N makes the best products.”

Allard will be back in action with the Golden State Series at Antioch this week.

“We had an outstanding race in Englishtown, and could very easily have won that event,” he said. “We lost by inches in the semi, to Tommy Johnson, and he went on to win it all. In Norwalk, the key accomplishment was getting qualified again. We are now the team with the longest current qualifying streak, at a massive 12 in a row. There is probably no better example of how consistent we’ve been all season than the streak. Our best days are just ahead of us.”

Team Worsham manager Bob Wilber said the key part to the accomplishment is the 11- for 11 streak. “Arend and his team have been on in 2007,” said Wilber. “He stands alone as the only Funny Car driver to have participated in all 11 races to this point, and he is bound and determined to keep that streak alive.”

Jeff Arend and his blue CSK Team use K&N Engineering Oil Filters (HP-5001) every time they race. “The thick canister walls on the K&N Filters have extra strength and durability,” said Wilber. “It reduces the risk of damage from debris on the race track. We wouldn’t dream of entering a race without K&N Filters.”

He is one of North America’s most versatile race car drivers. On June 16-17 Fellows piloted a Corvette C6R with K&N Engineering Products to a runner-up finish in the GT1 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Cadillac CTS-V is equipped with a K&N Oil Filter (HP-1007).

Team Cadillac will start the second half of the 10-race series from a position of strength. It is leading the manufacturer’s championship by two points over Chevrolet, nine points over Porsche and 17 over Dodge.

“At least I’ll get to sleep in my own bed for the Toronto race,” said Fellows. “I’ve got a 20-minute drive to the Toronto track from my home in Mississauga. It’s always good fun to race the Cadillac CTS-V and racing at home just makes it better.” The Toronto circuit is new to the SPEED GT series, but its familiar territory for Fellows. He won there in the GM Player’s Challenge and drove Trans-Am machines on the temporary course at Exhibition Place.

“The track layout has changed a little, but it’s essentially the same circuit that I’ve raced on in the past,” said Fellows. “It’s a very traditional street circuit with a good mix of corners and some tricky combinations of turns. Like most street races, there’s not a lot of grip, but there are at least three good places to pass, under braking going into Turn 1 and Turn 3, and accelerating up the hill into Turn 5 if the car is putting the power down well. It’s a little tricky, but I’ve done it.”

SPEED GT is scheduled to start at 5:25 EDT on Sunday, July 8. The race will be televised on Saturday, July 14 at noon EDT on the SPEED Channel.

A record breaking crowd of 41,247 die-hard speedway fans attended one of the most prestigious events on the Grand Prix calendar. The British fans watched a new local hero rise to victory in his first year of competition. Chris Harris was the surprise winner as he stormed from behind to take the win ahead of American Greg Hancock and Australian Jason Crump.

Crump is a three-time winner of the British Grand Prix, and was pleased with his latest result. He added 15 valuable points to his overall standings. “I am just happy to be back on the podium after a pretty lean year so far,” said Crump. “It was important for me to get a good result to remain a contender in the title chase. The points gap has narrowed just a little bit but it is heading in the right direction.”

The Australian ace uses K&N Engineering products. “K&N Filters has been a long time supporter of mine,” said Crump. “Speedway is dirt track racing so having the right filtration is paramount. The air filter is the most important part of the engine for performance and reliability. It must stop foreign objects from getting in and provide constant airflow for maximum engine performance. K&N delivers every time.”

Crump crashed in round three of the 2007 World Speedway Series at Sweden’s Eskilstuna arena. He was unable to continue the race after suffering injuries to his shoulder and collarbone. He refused to give up and raced at Denmark’s National indoor Arena in Copenhagen, Sweden two weeks later where he added nine points to his overall standings.

“It’s five down and six to go, so there is still time to play catch up with the leaders,” said Crump. “I just need to get a great result in Prague in four weeks and then maintain that same consistency for the remainder of the series. I will be giving it my best shot.”

Crump won the Under 21 World Championship when he was 19-years-old in 1995 using K&N Filters. “I also won the World Speedway Championship in 2004 and 2006 using K&N products,” said Crump. “It is my plan to use K&N exclusively until the end of my career.”

Crump is currently in 6th place in the World Championship Standings.
