Jody Lang the veteran drag racer from Puyallup, Washington started racing his 1981 Malibu Wagon Stock Eliminator car back in 1993, and his trusty Malibu continues to do him right. He recently took the car to the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Northwest Division, Thunderfest at Spokane County Raceway, and drove away with the win in the round five eliminations in the Stock Eliminator division. Lang's winning ET was 12.734 at 98.02 mph.
Jody Lang and his 1981 Malibu Wagon Stock Eliminator car have been winning together since 1993.
"Things are going good," said Lang, "Winning in Stock Eliminator at the Lucas race in Spokane, Washington really helped to make things good, that's for sure."
"I made it a few rounds here and there at the four races in Sonoma, California a few weeks ago, and the Spokane race ends a very busy five race weekends in a six week stretch," added Lang.
The stretch included four races in two weeks at Sonoma for Lang.
Lang's plans for 2010 remain the same, he plans on racing all West Coast National Events - five Division 6 races and three Division 7 races. He is also entertaining plans of racing the Fontana Sports National this year.
"We have the Seattle Lucas race coming up August 19-22. That Thursday Seattle hosts the make-up race from Mission Raceway back in May."
Mission Raceway Park, also known as MRP, is located in Mission, British Columbia, Canada, and the earlier scheduled event back in May had to be canceled because of bad weather.
Lang uses K&N oil and air filters, and valve cover breathers.
"The K&N products as usual are great. The nut on the oil filters comes in very handy," says Lang.
K&N rider Joe Kopp literally found the tracks groove in order to win.
Round eight of the K&N Filters Grand National Championship was contested at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, nicknamed the "the fastest half-mile in Michigan." AMA's pro racing elite flat-trackers were on hand, after overcoming two re-starts and furious competition, it was Lloyd Brothers Motorsports and K&N rider Joe Kopp, taking the checkered.
K&N Filters Grand National Championship was contested at I-96 Speedway and Lloyd Brothers Motorsports came away with the victory.
"Joe was pretty strong all day, as were teammates Kenny Coolbeth, and Jake Johnson," remarked team owner David Lloyd.
"For this race, and the following two half-mile races, Joe is riding his Latus Motors/ENI USA R&M backed Harley-Davidson XR750. Even though Joe has won on the Ducati, it is still a very new motorcycle, under constant development, and we did not have any time to test the bike on clay type half-mile tracks."
This was Kopp's second win of the year and along with his other top-ten finishes, he now sits firmly atop Grand National Championship points race.
Kopp and the rest of the team felt the most confident riding the Harley's at this point, being they all have far more experience onboard them. Kopp alone has over 20 years riding Harleys, and collectively it was a good decision, considering Kopp is leading the overall Grand National Championship.
Team LBM's Kenny Coolbeth had another excellent showing too.
"I knew I had to get out front and not make any mistakes," said Kopp. "I was the veteran, I should be able to keep the 'kids' behind me."
"The track developed a very narrow groove and was really hard to pass on unless someone made a mistake. Joe rode perfectly getting the hole shot each time and riding perfect laps to finish first and extend his points lead," said Lloyd.
So far overall the season has been going great for the Lloyd Brothers team, Kopp now has two wins and solid top-ten finishes at all the other races, keeping him atop the points chase.
The team dynamics are totally unique this year explains Lloyd, "Basically we were able to put together a deal where Joe Kopp Racing and Lloyd Brothers Motorsports teamed up, combining our sponsors and resources to build a well equipped team that offers Joe more options than the other teams that we compete against."
"We were able to combine our marketing partners financial resources - Joe Kopp's long-time title sponsor Latus Motors, and Lloyd Brothers Motorsports' title sponsor - ENI USA R&M," adds Lloyd.
"We were also able to combine our equipment and personnel so that Joe now has a full stable of Honda CRF450s, Harley XR750s and Ducati 1100s, and people to take care of them. Where a lot of teams have had to really cut back - we were able to find a solution that combined what we had - allowing us to do even better."
The Lloyd Brothers team depends heavily on K&N products. Professional Flat Track racing is an extremely dirty and brutal environment for equipment.
"With K&N air and oil filters, we know that the inside of our engines stay as clean after the race as they were when we unloaded them from our transporter," says Lloyd. "Thanks K&N, for your support of our team, and the AMA Pro series."
Some RV drivers now have the option to combine the world's best air filter with ONAN, a top quality maker of generators. Many of the ONAN generators that this filter fits are the types of generators that are found in many motorhomes and RV's. The ONAN CAMP POWER is perfect for travel trailers and folding camping trailers. The Cummins ONAN JUICEBOX is a self-contained, portable hitch mounted generator for RV's and Fifth wheels. The ONAN MICROQUIET RV generator provides compact, exceptionally quiet power for trailers, fifth-wheels and small Type As and Cs. The ONAN RV QG is ideal for medium and light duty applications. Alternative fuels and various fuel delivery systems are available for these generators depending upon the model chosen. K&N now has an air filter for these generators. See the list below for detailed applicaions.
Replacement Air Filter for ONAN RV Generators
K&N's E-4527 air filter was designed with a rubber washer and stud in the lid to ensure a great seal. The E-4527 high performance air filter uses a quality non-woven synthetic material. We've pleated this non-woven synthetic material so that a large amount of surface area is available to trap a significant amount of debris. A large amount of surface area aids in maintaining a high level of debris capacity while keeping air restriction levels at a minimum. In addition RV generator owners are able to service our non-woven synthetic filters in less than optimal conditions by simply applying the K&N HD cleaner, letting the cleaner sit on the filter for ten minutes and then spraying off the cleaner with a hose. Users of this filter significantly cut down on service time since oil is not used. Drying time can also be decreased with the use of compressed air. Using compressed air should not damage the media on this highly durable HD air filter.
The E-4527 fits numerous applications that can be identified using the chart below.

Eric Holmes won the inaugural NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Montana Raceway Park on Saturday night and padded his lead in the West Series standings.
Eric Holmes started seventh and took the lead from David Mayhew on lap 113.
Holmes won his third race of the season and his first since June 5 at Douglas County Speedway in Oregon.
Holmes started seventh and took the lead from David Mayhew on lap 113. Two crashes over the last 30 laps bunched up the field, but Holmes was able to maintain his lead through both caution periods.
"We had a great car here tonight. Set up was real good," said Holmes, driver of the No. 20 Toyota for Bill McAnally Racing. "The car worked real well on the bottom."
The race was caution free from the start until lap 103. Greg Pursley won the pole and led the first 18 laps of the race.

"It's a pretty cool track to race at," said Pursley, driver of the No. 26 Ford for Gene Price Motorsports. "Started out really good. We were fighting a little loose, David Mayhew had a better can than we did at that point. Let him go by. We were just trying to hang out until lap 150. I don't think anybody thought we were going to run 105 laps straight under green."
Mayhew took the lead on lap 19 and held it for a race-high 94 laps. Meanwhile Holmes was working his through the field and closing in on Mayhew.
"Started seventh, took a little bit to get up to the front," Holmes said. "Once we got into second, we had that long green. Just kind of rode there in second waiting for a caution."
Holmes got his caution for debris on lap 103. Holmes took the lead from Mayhew 10 laps later, but rookie Luis Martinez spun out on lap 118 and brought out another caution.
"Got a caution late in the race there, had a great restart against Mayhew, ran side by side with him for a couple of laps," Holmes said. "Them late yellows there were a little nerve racking having to go through them restarts again."
Late in the race, Travis Bennett and Paulie Harraka, who was running in second place at the time, collided. Pursley was caught up in the wreck and limped around the track for an 18th place finish. Harraka crossed the finish line in 11th. Bennett was penalized for rough driving and pushed back to the last car on the lead lap in 12th.
Holmes has a 79-point lead over Mayhew in the West Series standings after eight races. Jonathon Gomez, who was fourth in Montana, is third in the West Series standings, 162 points out of first.
"The car was real good on the bottom and had some great restarts and brought the NAPA Toyota back to victory lane," Holmes said.
Mayhew finished second, followed by Moses Smith in third. Gomez was fourth and Gary Lewis, from nearby Bothel, Wash., was fifth.
"We had a pretty good car," Mayhew said. "We had a good car up front. Didn't quite have the thing at the end like we needed, had a good battle with Eric on that last restart. I was hoping to pinch him down and hold him off. He's got these short tracks down and had a good car at the end."
The next K&N Pro Series West race is Saturday, Aug. 14, at Colorado National Speedway.
What do you call a transmission full of gremlins and a lapped-contact rollover? Bad weekend! It's been an up and down year for 2009 Winged Outlaw Warriors champ Josh Fisher, and that bad weekend came on the heels of victorious back-to-back performances at the Lake (Missouri's Lake Ozark Speedway, where Fisher leads points in the 360s).
2009 Winged Outlaw Warriors champ Josh Fisher
Fisher wrestled with a failing shifter (which ultimately took the trans with it) in the Northrop #83 at Illinois' Jacksonville Speedway on a hot July Friday evening, and didn't quite master the dark art of moving through lapped traffic (with a #86-demolishing wall climber as a result) at Lake Ozark the following Saturday. Not good, but only a dent in an otherwise strong season.
Fisher's 2010 points total is still building, with three K&N-fed wins and 10 top-fives out of 18 events so far (his wins all coming at Lake Ozark Speedway). His varying fortune on-track has not kept him out of the title hunt for the 2010 Winged Outlaw Warriors season, and he's currently ranked 17 of more than 100 drivers as he chases a repeat of his 2009 WOW championship.
You might pause to wonder if Fisher would like a couple days of his own to get Jacksonville Speedway under control - it's been his Achilles heel in 2010. Tough crowd or tough track?
"I like the Lake a lot more - Jacksonville is a different kind of animal. It's got a really high bank and a lot of big walls, and it's a little shorter than a quarter-mile so I can't stretch the 410 out as much as I want. It's a tough track."
The second-half of the 2010 WOW season is where Fisher expects folks to feel the weight of his championship 2009 season. "I would really like to thank Rick and Ricky for the opportunity to run their 410 car. I'd also like to thank all my supporters on my 360 car: Ozark Barge & Dock Services Inc., ASAP Properties, Impact Wraps, Impact Sign & Lighting, Fischer's Concrete, Champion Brands, Bill Ferguson Livestock Trucking, K&N Filters, Butler Built Seats, Maxim Racing Chassis, Winters Performance, Bell Helmets, Hoosier Tires, Ramey Dirtworks, TCI Tire Centers and Brian's Gym."
