Two New XStream Top Extreme Duty Clamp-on Filters Released for Use In Dusty Conditions

K&N has released two new extreme duty universal clamp-on air filters with extra thick filtering mediums to provide increased protection in high dust conditions. Both filters also have a K&N XStream^® top that adds extra filter area. This allows greater air flow and a longer time between cleaning.

K&N extreme duty universal air filter part number, RX-4730XD

K&N RX-4730XD and K&N RX-3810XD are a round tapered universal air filters designed with a deep pile design, extra fine weave grade cotton and alternative geometries for added efficiency and capacity in off-road conditions. Like other K&N universal XD filters these filters come pre-treated with K&N filter oil and are ready for use right out of the box.

K&N extreme duty universal air filter part number, RX-3810XD

The RX-4730XD universal clamp on air filter has a flange inside diameter of 3 inches (76 mm) and a height of 6.5 in (165 mm). The RX-3810XD has a flange inside diameter of 2.438 inches (62 mm) and a height of 6.125 in (156 mm).

The XD cotton medium was developed for the extreme conditions encountered by race teams in the Baja 1000. This real world testing is combined with testing performed at K&N’s own dust retention laboratory.

Instructions are included with the RX-4730XD and RX-3810XD. K&N universal XD air filters are washable, reusable and are warranted against defective material or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase with no mileage limitations.

It, like other K&N universal XD filters, comes pre-treated with K&N filter oil and is ready for use right out of the box. This round straight universal XD air filter has a flange inside diameter of 3 inches and a height of 5 inches.

The RC-2960XD is also designed and manufactured for a wide range of applications. This chrome top round tapered universal clamp on XD air filter has a flange inside diameter of 6 inches and a height of 5 inches.

Lucas Oil Off-Road Series Pro Buggy Racer Bobby Pecoy is Fulfilling a Dream

Bobby Pecoy began by racing go-karts

Bobby Pecoy started riding motorcycles at five years old. Although he had an extreme love for the sport, his parents forbid him to race. Plenty of parents worry themselves sick over the potential dangers of racing, and his were no exception. So, like many youth, Bobby snuck the motorcycle out of the garage to take it to the local tracks to ride.

Although many of Bobby's friends were racing when he was young, his parents remained adamant, and said as long as he lived with them he could not race. Then once Bobby did move out, he found out quickly that he could not afford the time to race since he had to get a career started. His dreams of becoming a racer were put on hold for 15 years until he finally had the time to try his luck at racing go-karts. "I raced go-karts for three years", says Bobby, "until my wife and I had our first child and that put an end to the go-kart racing."

Child rearing kept him off the tracks for several years, but then he started racing some grand prix events on a motocross bike and doing fairly well against guy's his age and even younger. Bobby says, "I found myself thinking I might be pretty good at this racing stuff again. Then I noticed Rhino's racing. I thought that looked fun so I tried it and it was a blast. I then went to a CORR race in Pomona and saw the Pro Buggies Race and I thought that was all about me! The first full season of racing the Unlimited / Pro Buggy I was on the podium six times and brought home three first place trophy's. Wooo Hooo!!"

Bobby Pecoy recently won the LOORS event in Surprize, Arizona

At long last, Bobby is fulfilling his dream, and races in the M4SX series, and the Lucas Oil Off Road Series. He drives a self sponsored # 973 Pro Buggy, and his recent win at the LOORS event in Surprize, Arizona was over the top. "Wire to Wire, led the entire race by a long shot," stated Bobby. "For me in the drivers seat at the time it was kind of boring, all by myself with no one to race with. Then I looked back to see the excitement of the team, family and sponsors and it was incredible."

Bobby developed a partnership with K&N during one of the early Lucas Oil races and says the filters keep the air in his race car breathing clean, and the oil running pure.

2009 Dodge Challenger R/T Gets Enhanced Performance with K&N Air Intake Kit

Gila Wheels selected a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T with a 5.7 liter engine to show off its 22 inch Rancor line at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada.

The Challenger in the Gila Wheels booth was stock white to show off its chrome wheels. A polished K&N air intake system, part number 69-2526TP, stood out under the hood.

K&N’s Research and Development Department tested a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS with a 6.2 liter V8 engine on one of our in house dynamometers. Results showed an increase across the RPM range with a estimated gain of 18 horsepower at 5200 RPM.

In addition to power gains, K&N cold air intake systems are also designed to increase filtering capacity and improve throttle response. The heat shields are engineered to isolate the oversized K&N chrome top high flow air filter, part number RF-1042 from engine bay heat.

This air intake kit also makes use of the Camaro’s factory fresh air duct which provides cooler outside air to the K&N air filter. This filter captures harmful particles, increases airflow and also increases service life. It will perform for up to 100,000 miles before service is required depending on driving conditions.

The mass air sensor is installed in the 90 degree bright intake tube. The mass air sensor adaptors are precision CNC machined, 6061 billet aluminum for accurate mass air flow sensor readings.

It takes about 90 minutes to install the 69-4519TP. This K&N air intake system, like all other K&N air intake systems is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
