Since childhood Brian Binkert had a dream: a dream of off-road racing. His dream took flight at 16 years old when he got a 1993 Ford Ranger, which turned into a 10-year project full of upgrades and experiments. Through trial and error Binkert grew to trust and rely on K&N Engineering products.
Since its origin Bink Designs has evolved, from winning several photography awards and honors to securing an expanded racing clientele.

Despite his enjoyment of all things automotive, Binkert followed a slightly different career path than was initially anticipated. He correlated his racing fascination and design skills into a more artistic career. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts, Binkert created his own premier graphic design company, Bink Designs, in San Diego, CA, in 2003. The range of graphic design services includes identity, print design, web development, apparel, and photography. Since its origin Bink Designs has evolved, from winning several photography awards and honors to securing an expanded racing clientele.
Throughout his exciting career journey, Binkert has cherished his partnership with K&N Engineering. "Ryan Fellman of K&N had caught wind of me through social Media and now we are growing our relationship," said Binkert.
When Fiat originally came out with the 500, they gained a lot of attention for the compact size, European styling and decent fuel economy. However with only being rated at 101 horsepower, it left much to be desired in the performance department. Well Fiat decided to spice things up quite a bit with the release of the 2012 and 2013 500 Abarth 1.4 Liter Turbo. The Abarth models have an upgraded suspension, steering, interior as well as a very snappy 1.4 liter turbo engine. The Abarth's power plant is pumping out a rated 160 horsepower and 170 feet-lbs of torque, giving automotive enthusiasts the additional horsepower they were missing from the standard Fiat 500.

The candy pink exterior paint of Lina Rodriguez's 2004 Mazda RX-8 demands your attention no matter where it's at.
Going to car shows you will soon notice that it's primarily a boy's game. Very few ladies have been able to break the ice and be serious contenders. What does it take to be a female, get into the car game, really make a mark and make all the boys look? Lina Rodriguez obviously knows what it takes to break the necks of the competition at a car show.
This custom Mazda RX-8, owned by Lina Rodriguez, has won several "Best Paint" Awards.
Lina Rodriguez started out with a 2004 Mazda RX-8. She added a Veilside lip kit, lowered the car 4.5" and added 18" XXR wheels to set the perfect stance. Lina likes to get her hands dirty and does a lot of the work herself. When it comes to routine maintenance on her 2004 Mazda RX-8, she chooses to do it all herself. When it came time to choose the perfect air intake for her rotary motor, she chose K&N's Mazda RX-8 air intake 69-6030-1TFK, because as she puts it, "it looks sick, and makes good horsepower."

When I asked Lina what proved to be the most challenging part about customizing her Mazda RX-8, she said, "The Paint." Even though her family owns a Autobody shop, this was a difficult task because she wanted the perfect color to make a statement in the car show scene. The color of choice for Lina Rodriguez was Candy Pink. And from what we saw, this paint job was flawless. Even to a trained car show judge it could take hours to find a single flaw on this paint job and it has earned her several "Best Paint" Awards.

Lets face it, it's a girls show car, and as most men know that women think differently than men, but from the looks of this car, Lina Rodriguez pays close attention to detail. Well... from what I saw, Lina Rodriguez and her modified 2004 Mazda RX-8 definitely gives the boys a run for their money. When it comes to taking home trophies at the car show we were at, Lina took home several including Best Paint, Best Mazda and 2nd Place import.
I later asked Lina Rodriguez why she chose a K&N Mazda RX-8 air intake system. "Besides the main goal, which is to obtain better performance and wanting quicker acceleration from the starting point, I truly like the amount of heads it turns once I floor it," she explained. "I feel that rotaries should be loud and the newer the car the quieter they seem to become. Adding the K&N intake to my car has been one of the best modifications I've done to my RX-8. You get a great amount of horsepower and it makes my driving more fun".

Lina Rodriguez says installing K&N's Mazda RX-8 air intake was "one of the best modifications" she has done to her car.
1.) Louie Bustillos plans to add power and torque by replacing his 2009 Ford Mustang GT stock airbox with a K&N air intake.

What do you do when your prized possession gets totaled in an intersection? Well you start all over and build a new model that's bigger and better. This is exactly what Louie Bustillos did after a wreck in his 1998 Ford Mustang. Louie Bustillos soon purchased a brand new 2009 Ford Mustang GT and began considering what he could do to beat his old pony. He had major plans in mind and wasn't going to wait to get started.
4.) It is not without K&N's easy-to-follow air intake installation instructions that Louie Bustillos adds more horsepower to his Mustang GT.
5.) Louie Bustillos' new K&N Ford Mustang GT performance air intake was mated to a BBK 62mm throttle body and a 125 Wet Shot Nitrous system.
6.) Installed. K&N Air Intake 63-2565 delivers an estimated 15+ horsepower to 2007, 2008 and 2009 Ford Mustang GT models with the 4.6L engines.
First, Louie wanted a theme for his new ride and decided to design a Drift Mustang. He loved mustangs, and he loved going into a corner hot, then downshifting and sliding through the corner in a controlled manner. According to Louie, Mustangs were made to slide. In stock condition however, you can only get so much out of the GT. The first addition to his 2009 Ford Mustang GT was K&N performance air intake 63-2565. It's mated to a BBK 62mm Throttle body and with a 125 Wet Shot Nitrous system for that extra little kick of power. This custom ride is also equipped with a Steeda under-drive pulley kit that Louie had custom painted before he installed it. Louie Bustillos' Mustang GT also has a Trufiber Hood with a custom acrylic viewing window outfitted with blue LED lights to show off the motor even on the darkest nights.
I asked Louie why he chose to use a K&N air intake for his 2009 Mustang GT. "The brand name alone speaks for itself," he explained. His confidence in K&N products was clearly evident. "I love using parts that are not only a well-known product but have been known to perform and K&N certainly meets my standards for being a product on my car. K&N is just a well-known product across the board. There is not one person I know that has not heard of K&N".
Now that the motor was purring he had to start making this modified GT a little more show worthy. He began by removing all pieces in the engine bay and having them custom painted or carbon fiber dipped. The exterior of the car was custom painted silver and blue two tone to make it stand out at shows. Louie also chose to accentuate the body of the mustang with a duraflex Cobra-R front bumper and a 3D Carbon wing. When it came to wheels Louie wanted to throw some large wheels on the mustang, but opted to stick with 18" Velocity wheels, to take advantage of the horsepower, and make the car easier to drift on the track. He then installed A thumping sound system with 2 Kicker 12" subs. Louie mated the subs to amps that push the woofers hard enough to drone out the screeching tires. A few 8" tv's were also installed just in-case Louie ever got bored at a car show.
Louie is one proud vehicle owner as he states, "My car is for me...I wanted to build my ULTIMATE ride and I have finally done it!"
