Nissan Juke and Juke NISMO 1.6L Makes More Power with K&N Short Ram Intake System

K&N Air Intake System 69-7079TS is powdercoated in a silver color to protect the tube and look good under the hood of the 2013 to 2014 Nissan Juke and Juke NISMO turbo models

The Nissan Juke is a sporty turbocharged crossover SUV from the Nissan Motor Corporation. The standard Nissan Juke is equipped with a 1.6-liter direct injected turbocharged engine rated at 188 horsepower. In 2013 Nissan introduced a NISMO (Nissan’s motorsports and performance division) tuned Juke and cranked up power output another 9 horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque.

Short Ram Intake System 69-7079TS from K&N Air Filters is designed to increase horsepower and torque for turbocharged 2013 to 2014 Nissan Juke and Juke NISMO 1.6L models

The small, but energetic, 1.6L turbocharged engine found in 2013, and 2014 Nissan Juke and Juke NISMO models makes for a fun-to-drive crossover SUV, but reducing air intake restriction can help this turbo engine perform even better. Owners seeking some extra boost in the power department can now install the 69-7079TS K&N performance short ram intake system. By replacing the maze of air ducting, stock air filter box, and disposable car air filters, K&N intake systems are able to reduce restriction and increase power.

Dyno Chart - An otherwise stock 2013 Nissan Juke NISMO 1.6L turbo gained an estimated 7.23 more horsepower and an estimated 6.32 lb-ft of torque with a K&N Air Filters short ram intake system

Dyno Chart - An otherwise stock 2013 Nissan Juke NISMO 1.6L turbo gained an estimated 7.23 more horsepower and an estimated 6.32 lb-ft of torque with a K&N Air Filters short ram intake system

69-7079TS from K&N is precision-engineered to be a simple-to-install performance add-on. The backbone of this intake system is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube which helps to minimize restriction, allowing your engine to breathe easier. The larger than stock 2-3/4 inch intake tube is mated to the original equipment throttle body with a reinforced stepped coupler. A durable silver color powder coated finish is applied to the tube, providing an attractive appearance under the hood that will look great for years to come.

K&N equips the 69-7079TS with the oversized RC-5128 chrome-top reusable air filter, providing a large surface to help increase airflow without sacrificing engine protection. The reusable air filter is made with K&N’s famous high-flow filter media so it’s a washable and reusable air filter that can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. A heat shield shrouds the air filter under the hood, helping to deflect engine heat away from incoming air and this short ram intake also retains the factory fresh air inlet.

All of the design features of the 69-7079TS performance air intake system work in harmony to deliver increased performance. On the dyno, 69-7079TS produced an estimated additional 7.23 horsepower at 5936 rpm and an equally beneficial 6.32 pound-feet of torque at 4037 rpm over the factory air filter box system when installed on an otherwise stock 2013 Nissan Juke NISMO 1.6L turbo.

The 69-7079TS performance air intake system is an excellent upgrade for 2013, and 2014 Nissan Juke and Juke NISMO models with the 1.6L turbo engine. With simple to follow instructions and no need to make any other modifications to the vehicle, you’ll be on the road in approximately 90 minutes with more horsepower under your right foot.

If all that weren’t enough, K&N backs the 69-7079TS with the industry-leading K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty®. If you’re looking to bring your 2013 and 2014 Nissan Juke S or SV up to par with the NISMO edition, or looking to take your Juke NISMO to the next level, look no further than the 69-7079TS Typhoon short ram intake system. K&N Air Intake System 69-7079TS is designed to provide a lifetime of increased power on the following Nissan Juke models:

Jake Andreotti is a Micro Sprint Car driver based in the Northern California area. Jake began racing at just five years old with training beginning six months earlier. During a period of over six years racing Quarter Midget cars, Andreotti built up quite a race resume. He was able to accumulate five national titles, 20 club titles, regional titles and other series championships. Andreotti has broken track records across the United States and can even boast that he has raced internationally in Canada.

At the end of the 2013 Quarter Midget season Jake, and his father Jared, decided it was time to take Andreotti Racing to the next level. Jake took the skills he learned racing Quarter Midgets with him when he began racing Micro Sprint Cars for the 2014 season. Despite having to learn to drive an all-new car, Jake Andreotti has six wins to his name this season. His first main event win came in May at the Delta Speedway in Stockton, California. “It was a very memorable moment filled with high-fives, thumbs up, clapping, and such memorable bids of congratulations” said Jake’s mother Jenni Andreotti.

In just his first year of Micro Sprint Car racing, Jake Andreotti has already accumulated six wins and is battling for the King Of California championship title

Jake once again drove his number 7P K&N Filters Micro Sprint Car to victory circle at Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, California. This was the second race towards the King Of California championship title. Jake’s father Jared Andreotti said of Plaza Park Raceway “Tricky track with some hard racing with very tough competition.” Jake didn’t have much time to celebrate his victory in Visalia, California as the Andreotti Racing family was on track again the next night in Leemore, California.

Unfortunately the race at Lemoore Raceway didn’t go as smoothly as the Andreotti team would have liked. “Salvaged a pretty good night considering nothing went our way. Started 13th in main, spun went to the back restarted 23rd and finished 7th. Very proud how Jake drove and stayed very strong” said Jake’s father Jared. With his finish at Lemoore Raceway, Jake Andreotti is only two points out of first place in the King Of California chase.

K&N believes in supporting up and coming racers at the grassroots level. K&N is proud to sponsor Andreotti racing and the number 7P K&N Filters Micro Sprint Car. Be sure to keep an eye on this young man as he has been described as “the next Kyle Larson” by those who have seen him race. Kyle Larson, who also got his start in the Northern California racing scene, was the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion and is now a rookie of the year contender in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Ford EcoBoost Powered Fiesta ST Turbo Makes More Power With K&N Air Intake System

Roto-molded air intake tubes, like the one used in the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST intake system, allow K&N designers to maximize use of tight spaces under the hood of modern cars

The Ford Fiesta has been in production since 1976 and is one of the best selling cars from the Ford Motor Company. The 2010 model year saw Ford release the sixth generation Ford Fiesta worldwide and was the first time since 1980 that the Fiesta has been sold in the United States. In 2013 Ford decided to add some life to the party with the EcoBoost 1.6-liter turbo powered Fiesta ST making its debut for the 2014 model year. The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST EcoBoost features overboost allowing the 1.6L turbocharged engine to make a claimed 197 horsepower when using premium unleaded fuel.

A sub-compact car, like the 2014 Ford Fiesta, with 197 horsepower may seem like overkill, however the electronic traction, and stability control combined with race inspired suspension make this a fun car to drive. In fact, many owners are searching for a Ford Fiesta ST cold air intake to increase power. If you’re such owner, look no further than K&N’s 63-2587 Performance Air Intake System. The 63-2587 Ford Fiesta ST air intake is expert-engineered and guaranteed to increase horsepower and torque. It replaces the restrictive factory system with a free-flowing, high-density polyethylene air intake tube to help minimize restriction, straighten, and increase airflow to the engine. More air means more usable power throughout the engine’s RPM range.

Dyno Chart - K&N Air Intake System, number 63-2587, produced an estimated additional 7.21 horsepower at 5,210 RPM on an otherwise stock 2014 Ford Fiesta ST EcoBoost 1.6L L4

K&N RU-4960 reusable air filter is fitted to the inlet of the K&N roto-molded air intake tube to provide excellent airflow rates as well as outstanding engine protection. The filter is washable and reusable and can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. K&N air intake 63-2587 for the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST incorporates a heat shield which helps to deflect engine heat away from incoming air. To help direct relatively cold air toward the auto air filter the factory cold air inlet is incorporated into the design of 63-2587 for the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST EcoBoost.

The K&N 63-2587 Performance Air Intake System produces notable horsepower and torque increases worthy of the Ford 1.6L EcoBoost engine. On the dyno, when installed on a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST 1.6L, the K&N 63-2587 Performance Air Intake System produced an estimated additional 7.21 horsepower at 5210 rpm and an impressive 10.07 pound-feet of torque at 3959 rpm. K&N is adamant about providing real world power gains and an explanation of how we perform dyno testing. Additional testing was performed to determine if replacing the turbo charge pipe was necessary for power gains. Replacing this additional section of the air intake tube did not result in increased performance, and made installation much more difficult than necessary.

The 63-2587 performance air intake system is an easy to install performance upgrade that can be installed in about 90 minutes or less using basic hand tools, and by following K&N’s simple step-by-step instructions. It maintains all necessary factory connections, including the factory crankcase breather clips, and does not require any additional modifications, like a tune, to be made to the vehicle. K&N backs their air intake systems with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty so owners can rest assured that their intake system can stand up to the test of time.

Performance Air Intake System 63-2587 is guaranteed to increase horsepower and torque on the Ford Fiesta ST EcoBoost powered models below:

Heckert Repeats With NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Biscuitville 125 Road Course Win

Cameron Hayley was leading the Biscuitville 125 race until a restart on lap 52 of 60 gave Heckert the opening he needed to drive the number 34 Project Lifesaver Chevrolet past Hayley

Just a week ago Scott Heckert, a 20-year old hailing from Ridgefield, Connecticut, brought home top honors in his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory at Watkins Glen International Raceway in Upstate New York. By pulling off a daring pass late in the race, Heckert took the Bully Hill Vineyards 125 win at Watkins Glen. With a similar late race pass in the Biscuitville 125, Scott Heckert was able to prove that his win at Watkins Glen wasn’t just luck. Heckert seems to have a knack for turning his Project Lifesaver Chevrolet both left and right on a road course.

Cameron Hayley, who led the most laps in the Biscuitville 125, was out front on lap 51 when the fifth caution flag of the day forced a restart with eight laps to go. This restart gave Scott Heckert just the edge he would need to work his way past Cameron Hayley and take over the lead. Heckert wasn’t in the clear just yet as another caution flag came out before the final lap. “I thought I had it. Then we got the caution and that restart was a lot of work. It was everything the car had for two laps. It was tough, but glad we got the win” said Heckert.

Cameron Hayley had to settle for another runner-up finish with the Biscuitville 125 being his fourth this season. If Hayley was disappointed in his finish it didn’t show. After the race Hayley commented “It was a wild and hot afternoon. Overall a great run for the Cabinets by Hayley Chevrolet.” Austin Hill would finish third with Gray Gaulding and Kaz Grala rounding out the top five finishers.

The top 10 finishers were running pretty close at Virginia International Speedway in Alton, Virginia but Heckert held onto his lead finishing .848 seconds ahead of runner-up Cameron Hayley

Ben Rhodes continues to lead the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship points with 65 points separating him and second place Cameron Hayley. Only two races remain in the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season. Brandon Jones currently sits in third, just 14 points behind Hayley. Scott Heckert’s win moved him up to eighth.

The next NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race will at the Greenville Pickens Speedway in Greenville, South Carolina.
