Katie Vernola WORCS round 2 Primm, Nevada

Katie Vernola got her WORCS round 2 race off to a good start by immediately squeezing her way into third place and avoiding a crash

Round two of the 2016 World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) took place in Primm, Nevada. Primm, Nevada is located 35 miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada on Interstate-15. The WORCS track was located behind the Buffalo Bills Hotel & Casino.

While the K&N Filters sponsored UTV Racer Katie Vernola has plenty of experience racing UTV classes in the Terracross and Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, the WORCS series is an entirely new experience for her in 2016.

"WORCS is really different, but I really like it. It is more about having fun out here. I really enjoy the 45 minute moto versus the Lucas Oil twelve lap moto. I know the tracks are going to keep getting harder and harder, so hopefully I can get my car beefed up and ready to handle the gnarly WORCS tracks," said Vernola.

Katie got off to an excellent start from the line squeezing her way into third place immediately. At the same time she had been able to avoid getting tangled up a crash as racers battled to get the hole shot. "I don't know how I made it through honestly. Two cars right in front of me rolled in the start. It was chaos," said Vernola.

After the first lap of Katie Vernola's WORCS round two race, she found herself in second place in her K&N air filter equipped # 72 Polaris RZR 1000

After the first lap of Katie Vernola's WORCS round two race, she found herself in second place in her K&N air filter equipped # 72 Polaris RZR 1000 and battling with the leader. Of her performance early on, Katie said, "It was a great feeling. It was something I've never felt before."

Katie V Racing Uses K&N Air Filters and K&N Oil Filters

Katie V Racing relies on the superior performance and superior protection offered by K&N air filters and K&N oil filters to keep her Polaris RZR 1000 engine in tip top shape

Unfortunately, Katie's Polaris RZR 1000 side by side suffered a mechanical issue, forcing her to ease up and play it smart in hopes that she would actually finish the race. In the end, Katie Vernola managed to limp her Polaris RZR 1000 across the finish line for sixth place.

Afterward Katie commented on her race, "I really liked it. I had a lot of fun and I look forward to the next race. The track was great and my car feels amazing, all the new products on it make it really feel stable. I know if we work these bugs out I can win."

To gain additional seat time before the next WORCS race, Katie Vernola attended the UTV World Championship in Laughlin, Nevada. The third round of WORCS racing will take place the weekend of February 26-28, 2016 at the South Point Casino on the outskirts of Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevada. Katie hopes to earn a spot on the podium before the end of the February.

Shea Racing Back Behind the Wheel of a Honda Accord in 2016 Pirelli World Challenge

Shea Holbrook Pirelli World Championship

Although 2016 mark's Shea Holbrook's seventh year competing in various touring car classes, this will be her first full season back in the Pirelli World Championship in several years

For years now the Orlando, Florida race car driver, Shea Holbrook, has relied on the support, performance, and protection of K&N Filters for her racing efforts. Much of Shea's time spent on the track has been competing in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) championship series since 2010 behind the wheel of a touring car.

Of the PWC series, Shea said "We race what the everyday American drives. With that said we take a showroom car, strip out the interior, cage it and add performance parts to help with the overall durability of the car and flatout make a "stock car" run as fast as it possibly can. In cars like ours a 1 hp difference is huge so, to keep our cars running at top level we need filters that will allow more air entering the engine to increase the efficiency of the combustion process which ultimately means more power! This is what K&N filters provide."

Jason Fichter joins Shea Racing for Pirelli World Challenge

Jason Fichter has joined the Shea Racing team and he brings his experience gained racing the Pirelli World Challenge and Trans Am Series TA3 class

Although 2016 mark's Shea Holbrook's and the Shea Racing team's seventh year competing in various touring car classes, this will be her first full season back in the Pirelli World Championship in several years. In 2015 Shea made the podium twice at the Circuit of the Americas; however she focused much of her time behind the wheel of a jet powered drag car in the IHRA Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series.

Additionally, Jason Fichter has joined the Shea Racing team and he brings his experience gained racing the Pirelli World Challenge and Trans Am Series TA3 class. Both Holbrook and her teammate Fichter will pilot 2016 Honda Accord models powered by 3.5-liter V6 engines. Fichter will drive the number 7 Mother's Car Care, Fuel Clothing, Donate Life Honda Accord V6, and Holbrook will compete in the number 67 BUBBA Burger, Lucas Oil, Koni Shock Absorber, Hendrick Honda Accord V6.

Simple Honda Accord Performance upgrades, whether for cars raced in the Pirelli World Challenge or daily driven, can be found on the K&N Air Intake Systems for the Honda Accord or K&N Air Filters for the Honda Accord pages. Long time K&N Filters sponsored racer Tyler Clem, son of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, captured two Bubba Army Winternationals top 10s in his K&N equipped #14 Crate Late Model

The long time K&N Filters sponsored racer Tyler Clem, son of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, was lucky enough to snag two top ten finishes in the first double header weekend of the 5th annual Bubba Army Winternationals series held at Bubba Raceway Park near Ocala, Florida. The 3/8 mile, D shaped, Semi-banked, clay track at Bubba Raceway Park, also called Ocala Speedway, Zuber Speedway, Marion Speedway, and Lightning Speedway over the years, has been in operation since 1952, making it the oldest track in the state of Florida.

Bubba Raceway Park hosts several racing classes, including Late Model, Open Wheel Modified, Hobby Stock, Mini Stock, V-8 Thunderstock, and Gladiators. 13-year-old Tyler Clem, who began his racing career in 2008 behind the wheel of a Quarter Midget, is currently racing his K&N air filter equipped Bubba Army #14 Rocket Late Model car in the 2016 Bubba Army Winternationals NeSmith Dirt Late Model class. Tyler was one of 53 Crate Late Models registered on Friday January 29th for the NeSmith Chevrolet Winter Shootout portion of the Bubba Army Winternationals. Clem fell just short of a transfer spot in his consolation event, and shifted his focus to the doubleheader event the next day.

Tyler Clem got his 2016 season started off on the right foot with a strong showing in the 25th Annual Ice Bowl at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama

For the $3,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday afternoon, Tyler logged the 10th fastest qualifying time. Clem's excellent qualifying run put him into his heat starting from the pole position. The top four finishers in Clem's heat race transferred directly into the feature and Tyler earned a solid 3rd place heat finish. With a guaranteed spot in the main event, Clem took advantage of the 50 lap main to work his way to the front. Tyler crossed the line in 4th place behind Kyle Bronson, Max Blair, and Mark Whitener. Austin Kirkpatrick rounds out the top five in the $3,000-to-win A-Main.

Tyler Clem raced again later that night. This time for the 100-lap NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series World Championship $10,000-to-win, A-Main. This race was carried over from 2015 due to weather. Tyler Clem started 15th in the main and before the race was over he gained eight spots recording a solid 7th place finish. 2000-2014 Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Lexus K&N Replacement Cabin Air Filter

Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Lexus Replacement Cabin Air Filter

The K&N VF2002 cabin air filter keeps Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Lexus models’ interiors smelling new car fresh

By the mid-1960s Japanese-made cars were making their impact on the United States and the rest of the world. Japanese car purchases really started to make their mark in the mid-1960s through the mid-1970s.

As American car manufacturers were concentrating on larger, less fuel-efficient models, the Japanese car manufacturers including Toyota, Honda, Nissan and others were focused on producing cars that were small and fuel-efficient. So when the Arab oil embargo hit in 1973, the demand for smaller, more fuel-efficient, cars exploded in the United States. It wasn’t too long after, American roads and highways were accommodating not only General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler model cars, but major Japanese nameplates like Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Mitsubishi.

In 1989 the luxury marque of Toyota, Lexus, was introduced into the United States. The move allowed Toyota Motors to compete against more well-known and established luxury cars including the domestically made Lincoln and Cadillac as well as the foreign made BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and others. Today some of the most popular cars on U.S. roads include Toyota, Subaru, and Mitsubishi models; plus the Lexus ES and IS are among the top 15 in luxury car sales.

No doubt owners of these cars wish to keep their interiors as fresh as they were when the car was brand new. Many car owners may not be aware that cabin air filters are what helps keep a car’s interior smelling fresh. Moreover, drivers may not be aware that there are filters available meant to replace dirty and clogged cabin air filters that can no longer battle the stale odors permeating the passenger compartment of their cars.

Replacing a cabin air filter is easy. It is as simple as exchanging the old, dirty filter for a new one. The housing for the filters is commonly located under the hood, beneath the dashboard, or behind the glove box. K&N offers a replacement cabin air filter VF2002, specifically designed for Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Mazda and Lexus models made between 2000 and 2014. What’s great is that K&N cabin air filters are reusable because they are washable.

Red 2007 Toyota Prius

Many Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Lexus models built between 2000 and 2014, like this 2007 Toyota Prius, can benefit from a K&N washable cabin air filter

While a common cabin air filter might be able to keep a car’s passenger compartment smelling fresh for about a year, a washable, replaceable K&N cabin air filter can keep an interior smelling great for a number of years. They can achieve this because they are electrostatically charged so they catch most kinds of molds, mildew and an assortment of other impurities.

A K&N cabin air filter can be Refreshed every 12,000 to 15,000 miles or once a year with the K&N Refresher kit. Being able to refresh the filter assures that you don’t have to buy a new replacement every year and can rely on the same K&N cabin air filter for several years.

K&N backs its cabin air filter line with a 10-Year/Million Mile Limited Warranty. These filters are manufactured under the same high standards as the K&N engine air filters. K&N has built its reputation on engine air filters so it is no accident that both filters are used by millions of vehicle owners.

K&N Cabin Filter Cleaning Care Kit

The K&N cabin air filter refresher kit can be used to recharge the K&N cabin air filter so your Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, or Lexus can smell fresh for many, many years

The VF2002 K&N cabin air filter can be used on the following vehicles:
